The much awaited introduction of the Honda aero kit for the IndyCar Racing series finally happened on 9^th of March. Honda took the wraps off the fabulous aero kits at an event that was attended by the heads of the Honda America Performance Development and INDYCAR.

Ryan Hunter-Reay, Indianapolis 500 winner and a regular on-track improvement driver was also present at the event and along with the Honda officials he showcased the road course as well as the short oval design.

The vice president and Chief Operating Officer of Honda Performance Development, Steve Eriksen while unveiling the Honda aero kits said that the introduction of these aero kits to the IndyCar Series will be calling forward a new age in racing.

Eriksen added by saying that it has been a very interesting journey to be able to get to this current stage and the company is extremely pleased with the results that the company has been able to accomplish. He said that the Verizon IndyCar Series has simply superb selection of tracks and one really wishes to fine tune to be able get compatible to each of these great tracks. Honda has just done something to help you t fine tune with these tracks with the introduction of the aero kits. These aero kits really help one to get compatible with the IndyCar tracks. Eriksen emphasized by saying that only time can tell if the company has created the best kits or not, but Honda has definitely put its full efforts in creating this aero kits, and did every possible thing that it could have done to offer these aero kits.

The INDYCAR aero kit program started in the first place to enhance the track performance. These improvements include all the crucial areas of racing such as speed, innovations as well as safety. The aero kit program is also focused on differentiating the cars visually on the racetrack. INDYCAR announced the regulations for the race back in the month of July 2013, while the manufacturer on-track testing began in the month of October 2014.

Eriksen further added by saying that it is all about back to the base of INDYCAR where development is concerned. The aero kits also facilitate the visual differences among the cars. Team testing will be commencing on 13^th of March. For an INDYCAR test, all the teams will be assembling on 16-17 March at Barber Motorsports Park.
