India made Honda Brio based Amaze sedan preparing to debut in China

Honda has created a huge wave in the Indian car market with its first diesel model offering in the country in the form of the Amaze compact sedan. The Honda Amaze was developed on the popular hatchback, Brio’s platform. This compact sedan has been an instant hit in India, ever since it was launched in the month of April, 2013. The Amaze is also giving tough competition to even the best selling sedan Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire in the Indian car market.

Honda Motor is thus, now willing to introduce this hot selling car in the car market of Chine, where the Japanese car maker is really eager to impress the audience with as many quality offerings as possible. Honda has reportedly applied for patent in the Chinese car market for the Honda Amaze sedan. The compact sedan is expected to debut in the Chinese market in the year 2014. The Honda Amaze compact sedan is presently manufactured only in India. The Amaze is developed on the platform of the Honda Brio hatchback which is manufactured in India as well as Thailand.

The fact whether the Chinese car market will also get to have the Brio hatchback is not known as yet. The Brio hatchback is placed below the Honda Fit that is also known as the Honda Jazz in some car markets including India. The Honda Fit is manufactured in China for the domestic car market by the joint venture between Guangzhou and Honda motor company.

The Honda Brio hatchback is a very competent subcompact hatchback and is powered by a 1.2 liter four cylinder petrol motor that has the capacity to produce a maximum power output of 88 horsepower. The engine of the hatchback transmits the generated power to the front wheels of the car with the help of either a 5 speed manual transmission or CVT transmission gearbox.

The Brio based Honda Amaze compact sedan that is currently solely manufactured in India is available in both the fuel options of petrol as well as diesel. While the Amaze’s petrol variant uses the same petrol engine as the Brio, its diesel variant is powered by a 1.5 liter diesel motor.

The diesel powered Honda Amaze sedan is particularly a hot selling model in the car market of India, as India mostly has diesel car loving consumers who look for greater mileage in their cars. Moreover, the Amaze also provides the greatest fuel economy in India in its diesel model that has generated most of the sales volumes for the car in the Indian market.

However, the Honda Amaze that is bound for the Chinese car market will be available only in its petrol variant, as unlike India the Chinese car consumers are not diesel car lovers, and as diesel fuel in passenger cars are mostly prohibited in many Chinese cities.
Honda is currently very busy preparing to launch a slew of new cars both in the Indian as well as the Chinese car markets.
