Honda CR-V is perhaps the first small SUV in the market of India. This car suits every occasion. On the other hand, Captiva is another SUV from General Motors which has a rigid and monocoque body. Both these SUVs are being compared.
This car has a well balanced body with a very good performance on the roads. The front of the car flaunts the two step prominent looking radiator grille. The headlamps look sharper with four halogen lamps which blend with the car perfectly. The fog lamps are oval in shape. The side skirt which runs down from the front towards the rear gives the car a muscular look and also it sheds the heavy look of the car a lot. The car has body coloured OVRMs. At the rear the car has the elongated ensemble of the tail lamps.
The Captiva has a very aggressive look from its front. The car has a wide mesh type radiator grille. The centre of the car houses the chrome gold logo of the company. The headlamps are rectangular in shape and the door handles have chrome inserts in them. The headlights are three dimensional. The OVRMs has chrome lining on them. The dual exhaust pipes at the rear has chrome finishing which makes them look bold.
In Honda CR-V, the comfort of the passengers has been taken care of. The car is very roomy and spacious. The interior comes clad with ivory and black leather upholstery. The luggage space is ample and apt for long journeys. The car has sunglass holder, vanity mirror, 8-way adjustable driver’s seat, 12 CD cases; etc. The three spoke steering wheel is tilt adjustable. The steering wheel has audio controls and cruise controls mounted on it. The wooden finish panel adds to the upmarket look of the car. Behind the steering wheel there is the LCD screen. The car has an automatic climate control.
Chevrolet Captiva is a premium SUV that comes with rich and irresistible interiors. This car has leather upholstery that comes in beige colour. The car has a new dashboard with new instrument cluster, red and black seat assembly, heater, adjustable steering column, tachometer, electronic multi trip meter, steering wheel which is leather covered, digital odometer, digital clock, power windows, remote fuel lid opener, low fuel warning light, remote trunk opener etc. the seats are comfortable with the required amount of head and leg space.
The Honda CR-V has been loaded with the 2.0 litre of i-VTEC petrol engine which produces a maximum power of 143 BHP at the rate of 6000rpm and a maximum torque of 190 Nm at the rate of 4200 rpm. The Chevrolet Captiva comes with the VGT Common Rail Direct Injection (VCDi), with 4 modern cylinders and SOHC configuration diesel engine. It produces a maximum power of 150 PS at 4000 rpm and a maximum torque of 320Nm at 2000 rpm.
In between these two SUVs, the Honda CR-V is a better option than Chevrolet Captiva.
