Japanese company Honda has recently launched the 2013 CR-V Crossover in South Africa is based out of Euro-spec model. This Crossover model comes with many changes as it is shorter and sits lower. The model sold in South Africa is equipped with three engines including two petrol and one turbo diesel motor. There is also a cut-price model of the CR-V, having a front wheel drive and 2 litre VTEC petrol engine, the two litre engine is attached to a 6 speed manual transmission, has an in-line four cylinder layout with an output of 153 Bhp-192 Nm. The South Africa spec 2013 Honda CR-V Crossover has a four cylinder turbo diesel engine of 2.2 litres. The engine has a peak power of 148 Bhp and a peak torque of 350 Nm. Although the six engines have a standard 6 speed manual transmission, the 2.4 Litre petrol engine and the 2.2 Litre turbo diesel variants have a 5 speed automatic gearbox. The all wheel drive system as standard is used in more powerful petrol and the turbo diesel engined versions of the CR-V.

The launch of the Honda CR-V Crossover in India is expected to happen at the beginning of 2013. Only the petrol guise variant of the car will be sold in India. Japanese automaker is interested in selling small cars with its new 1.5 litre i-DTEC turbo diesel engine. In India only the spec CR-V crossover with the 2 litre and 2.4 litre petrol engines will be available. The models of Crossover being sold are the 6 speed manual transmission and 5 speed manual transmission cars connected to front-wheel drive and all drive modes. The latest version of the CR-V is also launched in Australia; the car debuted in United States, and has already been sold in Europe. The Australian version of CR-V appears to be more stylish when distinguished with the US version. The Australian market, 2013 CR-V crossover is fitted with two engines and two transmission options. The internal features of the models comprise a 2 Litre 4 cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine having a peak power of 153 Bhp and a torque of 190Nm. The Honda i-VTEC technology is used in the engine. A standard six speed manual gearbox is fitted to the engine; this gearbox drives the front wheels of the Crossover. The 2 litre petrol engine can also be fitted with a 5 speed automatic gearbox. The all wheel drive option is not available in the 2 litre engine variants of the CR-V.

The Honda CR-V having all these powerful internal combustible features portrays a model which would be very efficient to manoeuvre especially on long drives, preventing chances of the engine getting too heated up, thus avoiding leaks. The model has done considerably well in the US and Europe market, hence it expected to have high manufacturing demand in India as well.
