The problem of the global recall due to faulty auto parts and safety features, has recently affected many renowned global auto majors. The most prominent name in the list is Toyota, the world’s largest auto maker. While Toyota had been bravely handling the issue of global recalls and trying hard to regain the lost dependability of the brand, its domestic rival company Honda was endeavoring to shun the disgrace. Though there had been a lot of complaints recently due to the malfunction of the Honda car parts, Honda has been trying to solve the problem on a case by case basis. However, eventually the Japanese car major had to make a huge global recall primarily to fix the issue of the very important breaking system of its cars.
Honda would recall 104,500 cars that are spread across 49 countries across the world to solve the problem with the vehicles’ braking system.
In the U.S. market, Honda is recalling over 18,000 Acura RSX compact vehicles that were manufactured in the year 2006 and Honda S2000 sports car batches that were manufactured between the year 2006 and 2007.
According to the Japanese car major, some the problem was caused because of power-brake booster parts that were not manufacture according to specifications. These parts could cause the braking system of the vehicles to decrease in their efficiency over the passage of time and that can also increase the risk of a road crash due to failing brakes. However, Honda says that the company is not aware of any accidents or injuries from the mentioned problem so far. Nevertheless, as this important issue was recognized, Honda is making a recall.
The company had found out about the problem by monitoring the warranty claims. The affected car owners will be notified by the company via mail in mid-July. The Honda sealers will rectify the problem free of cost.
Honda will personally contact the owners in the U.S through emails, but apart from the email notification, the Honda car owners can also call on Honda toll free number to contact the company for the brake issue as well as for more information. There are two separate toll free numbers to serve the owners of the RSX and the S2000 respectively. The company is putting full effort to make the solving of this issue as convenient as possible for the owners, the Japanese car major said in a statement made recently.
Globally, out of the affected 104,500 cars, around 70,000 of cars were sold in Honda’s home-ground market of Japan. Outside the U.S market, the recall includes the Honda Edix of the 2006 and 2007 make, the Honda Mobilio of 2006 make, the Honda Spike of 2006 make, the Honda Air Wave of 2005 and 2006 make, the Honda Stream of 2006 make and the Honda Integra of 2005 and 2006 make.
Honda is thus trying hard to fix the faulty parts problem as it joins the global recall bandwagon.
