Honda Cars India has also achieved a remarkable growth of 45 percent by recording the sales figures of 29,127 units from the month of April to June this year as compared against the sale of 20,076 units during the same period in the year 2012. The company’s exports stood at 761 units during the month of June, this year.
The Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Honda Cars India Ltd. Mr. Jnaneswar Sen while expressing his joy on the sales performance and growth of the company said that Honda Cars India is tremendously delighted with the consumer response to the company’s latest launch of the Amaze compact sedan which has exceeded all the expectations and the car’s demand is gaining momentum even further. He added that Honda India is really glad to have over 18,000 satisfied Amaze customers and the company hopes to add many more happy customers to this figure in the future.
He further added that owing to great customer response to the company’s entire product offering for the domestic car market of India, Honda has been able to achieve a considerable growth of 45 percent in the first quarter of this year.
Honda Cars India’s entire sales figures took a drastic positive surge in the month of April, when the company launched its compact sedan Amaze in the Indian car market. The Honda Amaze is the first diesel car offering in India and it also boasts of having the highest diesel fuel economy in the country. The Indian cat consumers who are really fond of cars that are highly fuel efficient warmly welcomed the Amaze resulting in the astounding success for the Japanese car major.
The Honda Amaze is based on the company’s popular hatchback Brio’s platform, but has individual styling and nice features to attract the Indian car consumers. Honda Amaze is the only car that could challenge the market dominance of the topmost bestseller Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire sedan. The Dzire is not only the compact sedan segment leader but also the top selling car in India at present, and even this car’s sales rates have been dampened ever since the appearance of the Honda Amaze.
While the Japanese luxury car major received a positive sales rate in the first quarter of the ongoing year with all its models receiving good response, the June sales figures are predominantly dominated by the sale of the Amaze and the Brio units. The Honda Amaze compact sedan recorded a sale of 4965 units, while the Brio hatchback sales stood at 2375 units in the month of June, 2013 making up most of the month’s sales figures for Honda India.
