Honda Motor has officially released the images of its 2015 Honda Fit hybrid hatchback. The Honda Jazz is known as the Fit in the auto market of Europe and is a hugely popular global car. According to Honda, the all new 2015 Fit hybrid has a fuel economy of 36.4 km per liter, which is a remarkable 35 percent enhancement over the ongoing model. The 2015 Honda Fit hybrid will also be the first hybrid to feature the new and innovative single engine e-assist system known as the Sport Hybrid i-DCD.
Keeping with the new inline 4 cylinder 1.5 liter Atkinson motor, the Sport Hybrid i-DCD includes a 7 speed DCT 4 system with a high performing engine and intelligent power unit, and is packs in a lithium-ion battery.
Honda says that the SPORT HYBRID i-DCD can automatically change to one of the suitable three driving modes depending on the various driving situations. The three driving modes are namely, the EV Drive, the Hybrid Drive and the Engine Drive Modes.
The Honda Jazz was also available in the Indian car market till Honda discontinued its sale in the year 2012. The Japanese car major is going to launch the all new 2014 Jazz in India in 2014 along with a diesel variant apart from a petrol one. The all new Honda Jazz is expected to be snazzier, bigger and better. However, all the new features will not make it to the Indian specification Jazz. Moreover, India is not expecting to receive the Jazz hybrid either, as Honda faced a bitter failure with the launch of the Civic hybrid in the country.
As far as the Indian car market is concerned, the Hybrid cars have no place here, owing to their steep pricing that do not go down well with the price conscious Indian consumers, no matter how eco-conscious. The same goes with all the other cars, such as the Honda Jazz hatchback that was appreciated by the Indian consumers who simply couldn’t afford its costly tag, which made Honda withdraw the model. This could be the same story for the next generation 2014 Jazz as well, if Honda retains its international pricing strategy. However, it is expected that Honda will price rather competitively as the company has learned its lesson.
The all new 2014 Honda Jazz will be produced locally at the company’s under construction plant at Tapukara, Rajasthan. According to the sources, the new plant will be operation by the middle of 2014 and the new Jazz should be rolled out from the plant within the following one or two months. Thus, the 2014 Jazz is expected to go on sale in India by around July, 2014.
As mentioned earlier, Honda is expected to price the new Jazz more affordably and its expected price range is about 5 lakhs. Honda is focusing to source the components locally to keep the price low, which should be enough to make this excellent hatch a super success in India.
