Honda showcases its innovative achievements in its new “Hands” ad

Honda has been receiving a lot of favorable reviews and acclamations for its new Accord Hybrid as well as its next generation models of its other cars. Honda wishes to remind the audience about the overall achievements that the company has gained over the years and its big plans for the future. Thus, the Japanese luxury car maker is using the media to campaign for the big ideologies and achievements of the company.

Honda has released a new online ad that has gone viral owing to its innovative and offbeat concept. Honda has titled the ad “Hands,” as it features a pair of hands creating a whole host of things beginning with just a nut.

The innovative ad starts with a voice saying “Let’s see what curiosity can do”, a nut rolls to the pair of hands who grab it and starts off making the advanced machines that Honda has been creating over the 65 years of its existence. The engineering pair of hands starts from making parts from the nut to miniature motorcycles then upgrades them to classic racing bikes and super bikes. The pair of hand quickly move on to making compact cars and keep on churning out a series of modern cars one after the other, from small cars to big luxury vehicles, to racing cars, modern lawnmowers and the ASIMO robot. The pair of hands keeps on producing a range of various products, finally churning out an air plane and spacecrafts all shown in their real but miniature forms.

The most innovative and bewildering part of its pretty long ad, is when one of the Honda cars is shown to be draining out water, which the hands store in a glass and then appears to drinking. This particular car is the Hydrogen Fuel Cell powered Honda FCX that the company stresses on giving out emissions if at all only in the form of water.

The Honda commercial ends with the viewers wondering what else could be produced by the hands, while it concludes with the nut at the beginning of the ad, back on the screen. The London based Wieden + Kennedy advertisement agency created this commercial, with Smith and Foulkes directing. This fascinating and attention grabbing commercial is certainly expected to take home some prizes in the field of advertising.

Through this innovative advertisement campaign Honda is not only promoting its overall brand value and the achievements of the company but also stressing on the company’s endeavor towards a greener auto industry in the future.

The Japanese auto major has recently announced about its tie-up with General Motors, in order to overcome the hurdles of the fuel cell technology and bring in advanced Fuel Cell cars with a more affordable price tag. Honda showcases how the company is striving to offer the zero emissions, green cars and empathizes on the green convenience of the Honda’s FCX that is showed in the advertisement as producing water as its released emission. Thus, Honda’s innovative advancements are represented in its online ad campaign.
