Honda Cars India has introduced a range of stylish and luxurious cars in India, despite the harsh macro economic conditions, the company recorded magnificent profits for the 2013 September month with an 88% growth compared to same period last year. The Amaze is one model which has changed the fortunes of the company. This is Honda’s first diesel project, and the results have been magical.
The immense success attained by the company post the launch of Amaze diesel, has enabled Honda to emphasize on diesel segment. The hot topic of discussion is whether Honda’s new diesel projects, one of them being the City diesel churn significant profits. The customer grabbing attributes of Amaze is the outstanding mileage yielded by petrol and diesel versions which is 18 and 25.8kmpl. The mileage released with diesel Amaze is known to be the best in its class.
Honda aims to launch the City diesel sometime in 2014; information on date of launch has not yet been revealed. According to company representatives the car is still in the developing stage and will be ready to hit showrooms next year. City diesel will be a killer launch in terms of engine capacity and will be fitted with a potent and ground breaking iDTEC mill. For some interesting information the same engine was used in Amaze diesel. The engine capacity will be 1.5 liters and is expected to churn superior power and torque values. The transmission option will be a five speed manual gear box, and sources claim that the automatic transmission version is also undergoing clinical trials. The automatic City diesel will have paddle shifters.
The advanced technology used in the manufacture of City diesel is called G-Force control technique (G-CON). The insertion of G-CON will reduce the impact to notches in the event of harsh collisions. The mileage offered by Diesel City is expected to be 12-15 kmpl on various road terrains. Those who are fascinated with the style statement of City petrol can expect the same with its diesel brother. The overall attributes are not similar, the City diesel will emerge with additional exteriors, that would heighten the grand image of the car to a whole new level with five spoke alloy wheels, green tinted glass.
The interiors will also arrive with new extra surprise packages with world class music system with Bluetooth, iPod, UBS and Aux-in connectivity, high tech touch screen devise, tilt steering, automatic air con and premium leather cushion fabric.
The car will be reliable in terms of safety with rear parking sensors; couple of SRS airbags in front, electronic brake force distribution (EBD) and anti locks brake system (ABS).
The City diesel will be priced at Rs 9 to 12 lakhs, and the rivalry in this segment will only become intense. Some of its stiff competitors will be Skoda Rapid, Volkswagen Vento, Maruti Suzuki Sx4, and Hyundai Verna Fluidic.
The wait is not too far for those who are already excited with the overall features of the car. City diesel has something more exciting to offer, and can be a grand milestone birthday gift.
