Honda City 2014

Honda Motor Company has great plans for its Indian customers and is aiming to launch sedan and hatchbacks in local markets with international safety features. As a first step in this path Honda is launching fourth generation car of its Honda City sedan in both petrol and diesel variants in worldwide markets. The production model of this car is likely to be showcased in Auto Expo at Delhi in November 2013 and will be available for sale in 2014 in Indian markets. Honda official sources have confirmed presentation of new Honda City car in the Auto Show but have not given any insights about its likely price and design. This car will be manufactured in India at Honda’s production facilities at Rajasthan and exported to markets across Asia. Though both petrol and diesel variants of Honda City car will have similar features and body structure it is likely that diesel variant will be launched first and depending on demand and sales the petrol variant will be brought in later.

Analysts state that Honda will sell the diesel variant first due to past success with diesel variant of Honda Amaze. Rising petrol prices have increased popularity of diesel cars and people seeking to buy new cars are looking to buy diesel variants which has led to growth is sales of these cars. The new Honda City will be better designed and more stylish since it is based on Honda’s design concept of “Exciting Design H”. From spy pictures released about this car on the internet analysts state that its body line will be similar to Honda Jazz and will be priced cleverly to replace Honda Civic sedan which has recently been phased out. To make it powerful the Honda City 2014 will have 1.5 liter iDTEC turbo diesel engine and 1.5 liter iVTEC petrol engine with option of manual and electronic transmission. Markets worldwide are eagerly awaiting launch to see what new additions will be made to this already perfect car which has loyal clientele. The Honda City 2014 is likely to be presented in 3 or four trims and will be available in regular colors of blue, black, white, silver and grey.

To give this new car a clear path production of existing Honda City model has stopped and dealers are selling of inventories at deep discounts. Unconfirmed reports also state that some dealers are taking bookings of the new Honda City to be launched in 2014. Like its previous variant the new Honda City will also compete with Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Vento and others. Since it is based on new Honda Jazz car which is presently being sold in Japan the Honda City 2014 is likely to have a wide grille with redesigned Honda logo on upper side. Upper grille will be surrounded by wraparound headlight cluster and complimented by low widely spaced fog lights. Wide bodied rear will be able to accommodate three adults comfortably and they can enjoy A/C from rear vents and manipulate music from hand rest mounted controls. To meet international standards it will have standard safety features of ABS and EBS along with airbags.
