Honda Cars India has unveiled the all new City in India today. This was also the world premiere for the latest generation sedan. The iconic Honda City sedan has thus reached its 4th generation model. Honda has unveiled the so far petrol only City’s diesel avatar with the all new 2014 City sedan. The latest gen model of the sedan is scheduled to hit the market for sale in the month of January 2014, while the pre-bookings of the car have already commenced.
While speaking at the unveiling ceremony, the Managing Officer at Honda, Yoshiyuki Matsumoto told the media personals that the all new Honda City will be available in both the fuel options of petrol and diesel and will help carry forward the heritage of the brand.
The all New Honda City’s diesel variant is powered by the new 1.5L i-DTEC diesel mill that drives the Amaze compact sedan, and is extremely popular in India. India is also the first country to produce and market the All New 2014 City that will be offered in 60 car markets of the world.
The all new Honda City comes with a head turning design language that is meant to grab attention of the onlookers when both in motion and still.
While developing the latest 4th generation model, Honda concentrated on 3 things namely, advanced design language, best in class comfort as well as best in class fuel efficiency.
The All New Honda City flaunts the design that is based on the company’s new design philosophy of Exciting H. The 2014 City will be the first Honda car in India to showcase this new design. This new design concept makes the sedan a bold stunner. This new design language is meant to create a new benchmark mid-sized sedan segment in India.
Honda has endowed all smart space saving techniques on the all new City. The new model has a longer wheelbase that already translates into better interior space. Honda further enhanced its cabin in order to provide class best space and comfort to all the occupants. The all new City will now be available in its diesel avatar powered by India’s most fuel efficient engine – 1.5 litre i-DTEC diesel motor. On the other hand, the sedan’s petrol version will be equipped with an enhanced 1.5 litre i-VTEC petrol mill that is also meant to offer class best performance and fuel efficiency.
