Honda Civic diesel is not new for people in the US as it has already been launched in the United States and yet to be launched in India. Honda is planning to launch Civic diesel soon in Indian markets. Civic is an interring sedan by Honda and its tests are in process so that people could buy it on the occasion of the New Year.
The new version of Civic diesel was made available in the US in the year 2011 and the version of upgraded due to the problems and issues found in the performance quality of the Civic. However, there is no change in ASEAN model and the same will be launched in Indian markets too.
The civic has got average looks as we were expecting much aggressive look from Honda. The body of the sedan is sharp and comes with aerodynamic style with a sporty look, giving competition to the other brands in the auto market.
The Civic in US runs on 2.2L i-DTEC engine and in European markets the engine is 1.6L oiler which is the basis of 1.5L i-DTEC engine. We are hoping that a better and performer 1.6L turbo diesel engine is being planned for India.
The older Civic in petrol version is no longer available in the market and has stopped the production. This 2012 model of the Civic will be replaced by new diesel one to survive in the competition. So there’s a possibility of Civic gets a cosmetic upgrade with some new technologies and hit the Indian roads in a few months.
The introduction of a diesel engine is not just limited to Civic but also the upcoming cars of the Honda like Brio or even City will get diesel engine. The petrol image of Honda Is almost disappeared and the diesel engines are “in” now to get the glory back.
The sedan will receive upgrades for design, extra features, new technologies and amazing interiors. The price bracket cannot be revealed right now as there is no such official announcement but we can say that it will be on the higher side compared to the current one.
The new 2014 Civic will get a CVT gearbox; it was provided in the petrol guise only but now the new Civic will have it too. This gearbox claims the quicker and smoother acceleration and reduction in internal friction. Honda has effectively worked on fuel efficiency of the vehicle. It is expected that new CVT unit will work smoothly in the diesel model of this sedan.
The list new features of the 2014 model includes, 7 inches of touch screen display audio system and LaneWatch system which detects blind spot and help drivers in spotting the vehicle in dark. These features are for the first time in Civic and buyer might appreciate the new additions in the sedan by Honda.
If you are excited to own this car you have to wait for a few months as the launch is expected to be in Jan-Feb 2014 and after the launch the new Civic will be a star of the New Year.
