Honda Motor has already announced the official pricing and mileage of the new 2014 Honda Civic. However, the Japanese luxury car maker did not mention anything about the other counterparts of the Civic comprising of the Natural Gas or Hybrid models. On the official Honda website also, when the 2014 Civic is out on the price list, its Natural Gas model’s details still show the 2012 model. Thus, the media decided to reach out to the Japanese auto major trying to get some explanation for this.
It was ascertained that because of an inventory buildup of the 2012 Civic Natural Gas version, most of the 2013 year model of the Civic variant was sold to the corporate as well as government fleets. On the other hand, the 2012 Civic Natural gas variant still comes with a $3,000 gas card incentive which was offered by the company back in the month of October, 2012.
Of course the company did come out with the facts that can be generally understood. Some of which is that the 2014 Civic Natural Gas variant will be endowed by everything new and snazzy that have been given to the other 2014 Civic lineup. The Natural Gas model will be getting all the updates and added features. This means that the variant will also flaunt the same refreshed exterior design as well as revamped interior features. The Gas variant will also feature some of the new high-tech specifications. However, the Natural Gas variant will be using the same old 5 speed automatic transmission gearbox and will be fitted with the more up-class continuously variable transmission or CVT gearbox.
Nonetheless, the Japanese car giant has still not disclosed anything about the price tag of the 2014 Civic Natural Gas model. However, it is well expected that the variant will be continuing to be the costliest model in the entire Civic lineup when price is concerned. The new 2014 Civic Natural Gas will be hitting the market for sale in the month of February next year, which the other variant, the 2014 Civic Hybrid will also be offered for sale simultaneously.
When it comes to green cars, Honda has already joined the global bandwagon of Fuel Cell vehicles that is now considered to be the biggest fight among the auto majors of the world. Like the car behemoths Toyota and Hyundai, Honda has also announced of its FCV (Fuel Cell Vehicle) that will be launched sometime in the year 2015.
Honda has also displayed its FCV technology explicitly at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show and created a big wave of interest. The Hydrogen Fuel Cell cars are expected to emerge as the ultimate green cars of the new future that will change the mobility system for better. The FCVs are now being explained by the auto makers as far better than the hybrids in terms of price factor as well, as it stands a great chance of immense cost reduction.
