Adverse environmental impacts are a cause of concern today; the effects have become enormously harsh. Automobile engineers and scientists in many parts of the globe are working on eco-friendly models. Fuel cell vehicles is a hot topic of interest, and when you browse through various automobile magazines, topics on fuel cell and other eco-friendly cars are as common as regular models.

Honda is working on promoting hydrogen fuel cell technology, and for some interesting news, the company has installed a three minute hydrogen fuel bunk in California. The installation of hydrogen fuel station will interest the public to the core. There are however some who will be concerned on environmental impacts, it is far away from water bodies, and no chance of it polluting the atmosphere.

The hydrogen tank can be refueled, and the name given to the movement of hydrogen fuel into the tank is called MC Fill. Here the time taken for gaseous hydrogen to reach the tank is slower by 45%. There is sufficient scientific activity happening when the tank is filling up. The process monitors ambient temperature to fasten the process. The scientific activity is inscribed in MC process, M stands for mass and C symbolizes specific heat. Hydrogen fuel tanks fill up in no time, less than 3 minutes, but for vehicles the procedure can’t happen too quickly.

Honda displayed its first concept car called FCEV at Los Angeles auto show in 2013 November. It is a five seat model, and can move enormous distances of over 300 miles. The power emitted from hydrogen fuel is 60% greater than normal cars, and the car will launch in US in 2015. The power output is 100kw.

The FCEV concept looks amazing and appears to be a typical posh sporty car, the length dimension is huge. The body is perfectly proportioned, with no cuts, and seems to be built with a single chassis material. FCEV portrays a typical stream body that would aid in swift movement.

The past few years have witnessed a sudden surge in eco-friendly cars in various streams, hybrid, electric cars fitted with lithium ion batteries, and hydrogen fuel cars. The invention of hydrogen fuel cars does sound high tech, and attention-grabbing, now let’s dive into the scientific technology behind these vehicles.

FCEV concept looks like any other car of its kind; inside the fuel tank is polymer electrolyte membrane, which converts hydrogen gas and oxygen in air to yield electricity. Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles are a boon in today’s time where the world is going through a major climatic drift, and pollution levels has risen to unbearable volumes. The emission levels from hydrogen fuel models are vastly lower than other cars, and there is absolutely no harmful material secretion from tail pipe.

It is moving to learn that hydrogen fuel station is constructed in California, and the filling process is super fast less than 3 minutes. It will be useful if such a system is launched in India to fight the drastic increase in pollution levels, and also aid in faster traffic movement in bunks which most of the times is very congested during the day.
