It is known in the automotive world that the Japanese car major, Honda’s position in the Indian car market was not great until the arrival of the Amaze sedan. The great compact sedan from Honda made the car maker climb up the ladder of the Indian car majors extremely fast, and helped it to achieve its status of being one of the top three car manufacturers in the country.
True that the new Honda City and now, the recently launched Mobilio are also great sellers, but Honda India started its very successful journey with the Amaze compact sedan, which is also Honda India’s first diesel car. After more than a year of its first launch in April 2013, the Amaze is still one of Honda India’s best sellers and has crossed the sales milestone of 1 Lakh units within just 16 months of its Indian launch.
Celebrating the amazing Amaze, Honda Cars India Limited has commenced the ‘Longest Drive through Amazing India’ campaign with the Honda Amaze. This drive is meant to rejoice the Amaze family car’s success in India and to engage its happy owners in a lively drive. This Amaze drive will be covering a distance of more than 23,000 km through the length and breadth of India. The drive will comprise of travelling through 250 Indian cities and towns across the picturesque and diverse of the country relishing every bit, before culminating at Greater Noida.
During the ‘Longest Drive through Amazing India’, multiple customer meets will be organized across many Indian cities where in happy Amaze owners will not only be included in the celebrations, but will be also encouraged to participate in the drive. This drive is a part of the Japanese car major’s ‘Amazingly Indian’ campaign.
The Amazingly Indian campaign has also been launched to celebrate the success and popularity of the Honda Amaze in India. The Amaze compact was primarily meant to be an able city car, but via this drive, the car will also be shown capable of covering long distance touring.
The Senior Vice President of Marketing & Sales at Honda India, Mr. Jnaneswar Sen said that this drive will be covering the tough mountainous terrains, the wet coastlines, the expansive highways, highly busy city roads and the interior parts of India displaying the durability and the reliability of the Honda Amaze sedan and its capabilities to handle diverse terrain.
The Honda Amaze won the title of the “Car of the Year” and the “Compact Sedan of the Year” by the leading automobile magazines and has also bagged as many as 12 prestigious auto awards in 2013-14.
Though the compact sedan segment of India is still led by the Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, and the second spot in the segment has also been snatched away by the Hyundai Xcent, the Honda Amaze is still one of the highest selling models of Honda Cars India. Honda expects the Amaze to achieve many more milestones in the future.
