Honda rose to glorious fame after the launch of all new City, it is not just another City launch, but an evolution of the past. The car launched early this year, and to cater to the overpowering demand, the company was forced to halt the production of the vehicle. Honda shifted the operation unit from the rooted Greater Noida factory to another unit in Tapukara Alwar.
The new City is sold in diesel and petrol fuels, the variant options are vast, the diesel products on offer are VX, V, SV, S and E. The petrol variant list includes CVT VX, VX, SV, CVT, V, SV, S and E. The starting price of the base model is Rs 7, 19,900, the automatic CVT SV car costs Rs 9.41 lakhs and the price of VX CVT car is Rs 10.9 lakhs. The diesel car moves with best-in-segment fuel efficiency of 26kmpl, the base S diesel costs Rs 8.37 lakhs and the most loaded VX car is priced at Rs 11 lakhs.
The waiting period of City in Delhi NCR regions is three to four months, and the models included are mid and loaded products. Consumers will have to wait for two to three months to grab the car. Customers residing in Haryana, Punjab, and Rajasthan will also have to wait for three to four months. There is an overflow of demand for CVT car in Mumbai; the waiting period is lengthy around five to six months. The waiting period in Hyderabad and Chennai is three months.
On the transfer of operation units, a top Honda representative said, ‘’the movement of City operations to Tapukara will enable superior availability and smooth delivery of City and Mobilio. There is a huge demand for Mobilio and City, and we have to format strategies to strengthen production at the two units to cater to a wide network of customers. ‘’
The new City is an instant blockbuster, it is a key profit player for Honda, and the demand for the car is on the rooftop since launch. Honda has engineered the car with revolutionary design technology; the unbeatable shine on the vehicle is the effect of the advanced ‘Exciting H Design system.’ The inner décor is stunning covered with a royal black and beige layer, the seats are super comfy. There is so much to enjoy a breezy ride with world class audio system and ample storage amenities.
Honda has stalled the production of City for a while, to just shift operations to cater to the increased demand. For those who were disappointed all this while, the company is re-building the car, the waiting period has increased, but it is worth it. The company did not gain much of market share from City in 2014 August, it however managed to yield marvelous 88.8% fortunes. Majority of the sales was contributed by Amaze and the newly launched Mobilio MPV.
The production of City will commence again, and is a car worth buying; everything about it is picturesque with respect to fashion statement, inner comfort and engine technology.
