After years of research and development for the second generation of the legendary Acura NSX supercar, Japanese car major Honda Motor is finally ready to take the covers off the new vehicle at the upcoming 2015 Detroit Motor Show.
In order to ignite the interests of the global car enthusiasts even further, Honda Motor has released the first teaser images for the extremely awaited Acura NSX coupe prior to its global premiere at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. Honda will be unveiling the production version of the new Acura NSX in Detroit soon in the next year. However, the teaser image that has been released is somewhat dark and mysterious, albeit as Honda wishes to keep things a secret till the vehicle’s official unveiling at the international auto event. The teaser image seems to be that of the last fully veiled test prototype of the vehicle that was spotted, except the bejeweled headlights of the typical Acura that have replaced the test prototype’s traditional headlamps.
After such a long time of waiting, Honda is finally ready with its coveted Acura NSX. The coupe with its powerful dual turbocharged Sport Hybrid powertrain is expected to give the likes of the Audi R8 and Ferrari 458 a run for money. The overtly anticipated new Honda Acura NSX will be finally having its world premiere on 12th of January, 2015 at the Detroit Motor Show.
Probably the huge unveiling of the Acura NSX right in the beginning of 2015 has prompted executive VP of Honda America, John Mendel to call 2015 as the Year of Honda. Of course Honda Motor will offer many more new cars in the global car market next year, but the debut of the Acura NSX is going to be an outstanding event both for the Japanese car giant as well as the global auto enthusiasts.
While speaking to the media at an event in Detroit on 16th of December 2014, Mendel said that after the unveiling of the NSX, Honda will introduce a new version of the Pilot SUV and a revamped Ridgeline pickup next year. He also revealed that the company will launch a line of compact turbocharged engines for its new cars. As for luxury brand Acura, the new ILX will be offered this year. He also hinted at the updated versions of the RDX and MDX crossovers to launch next year.
The production version of the eagerly anticipated next-gen Acura NSX supercar will be kick starting the busy year for Honda when it gets introduced to the world at the 2015 North American International Auto Show on 12th January. The next-gen Acura supercar is slated to hit the market later next year. In order to celebrate the imminent world debut of the next-gen Acura NSX, the company also released a 30 second teaser video which provides glimpses of the alluring production version of the car and the roar of its powerful 3-motor, twin turbocharged Sport Hybrid drivetrain to further excite the auto enthusiasts.
