Honda has introduced its stunning new SUV in Malaysia, the all new HR-V, with such a stylish car on sale; the company is certainly banking on admirable profits. It hopes to sell around 700 units a month, and it is rolled out at an initial price of RM 99,800. Who wouldn’t want to buy the new HR-V and the booking figures have crossed the milestone 1,500 booking mark.
The phrase HR-V sounds new and catchy and so is the abbreviation that defines the core nature of the car at first sight. It stands for Hip and Smart Runaround Vehicle, and is slated between entry level sedans and upper range sport utility vehicles (SUV’s). The SUV market is flourishing in Malaysia, in just five years the segment has witnessed a remarkable 74% growth and the market share volume has risen by 4.7%.
Many of us would dream of a plush SUV, and there can’t be anything better than HR-V, and according to the chief operating officer and president of Honda Malaysia, ‘’the only missing element of the SUV market is a compact model and it is a bridge between entry level sedans and higher end sport utility vehicle.’’
HR-V runs on a potent 1.8 litre mill and there are three variants on offer, V, E and S (form high-end to the basic model) and the prices of each is RM 118,800, RM 108,800 and RM 99,800. The prices are on road inclusive of insurance. The interiors are packed with richness with one touch signal and cruise control, smart entry with push start button, state-of-the art seven inch display audio and world class touch panel auto air-conditioning.
The HR-V sounds like a sensational buy indeed, apart from Malaysia; it is a sight of attraction in Thailand. An Indian launch is not yet certain and sources are anticipating its arrival into the country. For some interesting piece of information about the car, it is Honda’s first venture into the sub compact SUV market.
Anyone will be stunned by the mere sight of HR-V, it looks incredibly stunning and sophisticated, and the Indian crowd will surely be totally fascinated with it. Honda has not mentioned of its plan to launch the car in India, and even though majority of the population would want it. Lucky ones in Malaysia can get a grand taste of the compact SUV, because there is nothing more stylish and glossy.
For those who are disappointed of the uncertainty of HR-V launch in India, there is a list of interesting new Honda cars to look forward to. Watch out for the upcoming Honda Vezel and Honda Jazz in 2015 and the intriguing launches of 2016 are Honda Civic diesel, Honda XS-1 Concept, Honda Tif, Honda CR-V diesel, Honda NSX, Honda Accord hybrid and Honda Accord diesel.
HR-V will surely sell like wildfire in Malaysia; let’s hope news of Indian launch surfaces soon, because it is going to be a cracker of a launch.
