Honda HR-V is a compact SUV from Honda that is reasonably priced at $24990. You get features like entertainment system with LCD, reversing camera, and automatic transmission in this price. But when these features are available as standard fitments in Mazda CX-3 that is much cheaper at $19990, you start to cringe. However, you feel you are getting full value of money with features like climate control, remote mirror and windows, alloy wheels, and a powerful engine that gives a superb performance.
Honda CR-V is powered by 4 cylinder 1.6 liter engine that produces a power of 105kW and a torque of 172Nm. It accelerates to 60kmph within a few seconds. Continuous variable transmission in this car gives a quiet and fluid performance. In fact, CR-V is so zippy that it makes driving in heavy traffic conditions a very easy job. Though it loses some of its fizz as it moves to a high speed of 100kmph, driving CR-V is still lots of fun. All in all, you get a lot of riding comfort whether you are driving slowly or at a fast speed.
Another good feature of CR-V is its easy navigation at slow speeds. This makes parking the car in tight spaces an easy job. Park brakes are light and quick and the efficient reversing camera takes all the stress out of parking the car in a packed parking station. Though the video is good, it does not have a great resolution.
As far as fuel consumption is concerned, Honda CR-V is quite good considering it has a powerful engine. Driving it on all sorts of roads, it gave a mileage of 7.4l/100km. Though this mileage is higher than the mileage of 6.6l/100km claimed by the company, it is still quite good give the traffic conditions these days.
Honda CR-V has a LED that glows when you are driving efficiently. It is a great way to make you drive smoothly so that the car also gives a smooth performance. Though one need not necessarily keep looking at this LED all the time, a glance at the glowing LED assures the driver that he is driving efficiently.
As far as interiors are concerned, you get a feeling that everything is well organized ad does not protrude or offend in any way. The touch controls on the infotainment system are highly capacitive and make your job very easy while driving. It is the seating system of CR-V that is the highlight of the interiors of this car. You can sit comfortably ad also fold rear seats to create additional space whenever required. It is this versatility of CR-V that makes it very attractive for the consumers. For families that carry lot of items when moving out, this flexibility means a lot.
Honda CR-V has a zippy acceleration and a powerful engine. It also gives decent mileage. It has all modern features but it looks a little bit pricey. Also, there is no AWD which should be offered in this price range.
