The hot news across the motor arena is that the new Civic Type R has commenced its production at the plant and being a global hub for Honda Civic, it will be supplying the manufactured units to the United States as well once it gets its official launch in its home town. It is expected that the new Honda Civic Type R will be seen on the roads by the fall. Other Civics; coupe and sedan will be sourced locally. The Japanese company, Honda now one of the leading automobile giants in the world is looking forward to commence the promotional campaigns once it gets made.
As expected from Honda the new Honda Civic Type are will have excessively stylish look with a sleek sporty design. The performance is top notch as well. The new look has already been revealed in its debut during 2014 motor show held in Geneva, Switzerland. From the looks of it, it is quite natural that this car has already created a buzz among the consumers across the globe. Although it is a quite common sight as Honda cars are extensively awaited by the consumers once they gets announced. And the curiosity of the consumers always leads to some fierce sales statistics. Powered by a turbocharged 2.0, 4- cylinder engine that produces, at its maximum, the immense power of 320 bhp and with a maximum torque of 400 Nm this is an ultimate deal of a car. Six speed manual transmission powers the front wheels good enough to churn out a top speed of 167 miles per hour and it also is capable of reaching 0-62 miles per hour in as little time of 5.7 seconds.
Owing to the exquisite performance features, the car will be in a straight head to head competition with biggies like Volkswagen golf R, Subaru WRX STI and Ford’s Focus RS. Although Honda is unique from them owing to its front wheels drive, which is different than all-wheel drive of above mentioned cars. Makers are trying hard to modify this shortcoming as they settled on installing a Dual Axis Strut Front Suspension, expected to reduce a 50% torque steer.
For U.S, the price and specs will be announced right before the launch in fall later this year
