0This is a very difficult comparison because both these cars offer almost the same level of comfort, performance and class. The Accord keeps the Honda flag high with its exquisite finish and performance whereas the Teana as to carry from the beginning and hope it can meet the heights of the Honda.
Both of these cars have been built for the passenger rather than the driver and hence, both provide amazing ride quality and comfort. This does not mean that the driver should be disappointed because he has the 180PS power which is good enough to churn out good response to the throttle and a great feel of power by pressing the metal.
The Accord comes with a 2,354CC 4-Cylinder engine which produces a maximum power of 180PS@6,500RPM at a max torque of 22.6 KGM @ 6,500 RPM and the Nissan has a 2,496CC 6-Cylinder engine, producing a maximum power of 182PS @ 6000RPM at a maximum torque of 23.2 KGM @ 4,000 RPM. Both are petrol engines and comply with EURO IV emission norms. The gearshifts of the Accord are way smoother and softer than the Teana, making it easier to drive. Also, one can feel the Accord going to higher and higher revs, but in the Teana, the feel is suppressed by the extensive use of electronics.
From the exteriors, the Accord looks more dynamic with its sharp edges and broad grill. The Teana on the other hand, looks a bit simple and calm with its straight lines and smooth curves.
On entering inside, both the cars are exquisite; the passengers get a feel of travelling in an airliner. The use of beige and black is perfect in the Accord. There are no loose ends to point a finger at inside the cabin of the Accord. The great legroom available for both the front and back row passengers is a big plus especially on long drives. The use of wooden panels on the dashboard adds to the luxurious feel. The rear ac vents, rear music controls and a reading light add to the aircraft like feel. Now moving on to the Teana, it seems difficult that it would be able to challenge the interiors of the Accord but, inside the Teana, there is a world of its own. The use of beige, black and wooden panels is quite similar in the Teana but, the great asset is the stylish twin sunroof which provides a very open and fresh feel inside the cabin. Another great aspect is the ottoman style leg rests in the front seat to provide support to the lower legs in those long journeys. The large central arm rest on the rear seat adds to the comfort of the passengers. The multi-layer cushioning on the seats of the Teana leave no space for uneasiness or pain.
Overall, both the cars are equally brilliant. And it is a very difficult choice. Both of them are priced in the range of Rs. 21-Lakh to Rs. 25 Lakh Rs. (Ex. Showroom, New Delhi). The Accord might lean forward because of its better looks and the Honda quality assurance.
