Honda Car Siel India (HCSI) has launched their premium sedan Accord, which is a real head turner. On the other hand, the German automobile manufacturer, Volkswagen had introduced its sedan Jetta in the year 2008, but since then Jetta has gone through a lot of changes. Let us compare these two sedans.
The exterior of Accord has been designed keeping in mind that it is made for the E-class proportions. Due to the long stretched headlamps and the bold lines along with its hood, the car does appear swanky. The logo of its company Honda proudly rests at the middle of the chrome slated grille at the car’s front. The rear fog lamps of this car have been placed in 3D styled slots. Protections have been given to this car from all the sides without compromising with its looks. The OVRMs are body coloured and the door handles comes with chrome finish. The car flaunts alloy wheels which overall gives a finishing touch to the looks.
The Volkswagen Jetta has a big body which has been streamlined with silhouettes to make it look different from the other cars. The front of the car flaunts a very classy radiator grille which has the logo of the company embossed in it. The bumpers of this car are key coloured and the window sides have black trims. The door handles and the OVRMs come with twin signals. There are twin halogen headlamps along with turn indicators. The car has green tinted heat insulating glass and 16 inch alloy wheels.
Honda Accord in real sense is a very roomy car. The car has beige coloured interior and leather upholstery. It further has features like Tilt and Telescopic steering wheel, a control panel with Aluminium finishing, leather covered gear knob, front armrest at the centre with a multi functional console, temperature gauge, rear ac vent, rear reading lamps, etc. Accord has all the qualities to be a comfortable car. Things which add to more comfort to this car are paddle shift standard with AT, dual zone air conditioning, drive seat can be powered in eight different ways etc.
The Jetta has decent space inside. The Jetta comes both with fabric and leather upholstery for its variants. Jetta has a user friendly touch-display which functions with perfect ergonomics and driver orientation. The door handles and the gear knobs have a classic chrome finish to them. There are twin reading lamps and entry lights on each door. The seats are too comfortable.
Honda accord is available in two different types of engines i.e., 2.4L and 3.5L V6. The DOH i-VTEC engine available in 2.4L is very fuel efficient and gives a power of 180 PS at 6500 rpm and Honda Accord 3.5L V6 produces a maximum power of 276 PS at 6200 rpm. Volkswagen Jetta comes with 2.0L TDI Trendline, 2.0L TDI Comfortline, 2.0L TDI Highline diesel engines all packed with 6 speed manual gearbox which produces a maximum power of 140 PS at 4200 rpm and a maximum torque of 320 Nm at 1750-2000 rpm.
Both these sedans are comfortable and provide huge amount of space inside along with all the comfort that one can expect from a car of this size and price.
