With the launch of Brio, Honda has made a fresh entry in the hatchback segment. Ford has launched Figo, a hatchback with almost every feature. A small comparison has been given in between these two small cars.
Honda Bio is a four door B-segment hatchback with outstanding looks. The front of the car is a bit slung lower. The front slim chrome finished radiator chrome slat houses the large aggressive logo of Honda. The headlamps looks like sharp eye as that of the cat and this feature makes the car look different from others. The indicators find their place in the headlamp clusters itself. The electrically adjustable OVRMs and door handles comes in body colour. The rear of Brio is wider and upswing. The rear lamps are placed at the extreme corners made in glass totally.
Figo comes with unique front and rear design. The front looks balanced because of the way in which the things have been placed. The headlamps have the shape of human eyes and are big with halogen lights and turn indicators embedded in it. Fog lamps have been placed at both sides of the front. The upper radiator grille is chrome finished and houses the logo of the company. The OVRMs and the door handles come in body colour. The car has a sleek roof antenna also.
The interior of Brio is not only beautiful but also has a lot of features that are technologically advanced. This car has a lot of head and legroom. Basic variant comes with single tone interior while the other three variants come in dual tone beige colours. The steering wheel is three spoke and is electronically powered and has audio controls mounted on it. The dashboard of the car carries a retro style where the music player is placed horizontally. The seats are ergonomically styled.
Figo comes with three spoke steering wheel. The dashboard has active colour. The instrument panel consists of tachometer, digital clock, digital odometer and two trip meters. The interior has fabric upholstery. The rear seats have been designed like that of bench. Since the rear seats do not come with head rests, the driver can see the behind clearly. The head room, shoulder room, leg room etc are decent but not ample. The car has air condition and heater.
Honda Brio has been powered with 1.2-litre, 4 cylinder 16 valves, SOHC, i-VTEC petrol engine which generates a maximum power of 86.8bhp @ 6000 rpm and a maximum torque of 109 Nm @ 4500 rpm. Ford has powered its Figo with 1.2L, 1196cc, SEFI petrol engine which churns out a maximum power of 70bhp at 6250 rpm and a maximum torque of 102 Nm at 4,000 rpm.
In between Brio and Figo, Brio is a car which has been manufactured keeping in mind the needs of Indian customers. Figo is yet another car which also has many features. Still, Brio in overall terms is a good car.
