The Honda Civic has been greatly improved wiping away the previous disappointments. The designers are promising a more emotional design, they will give this car a more ‘Youthful and Premium feel”, so the owners feel reposed in the faith of owning the car.
We have to admit the 2012 model was modeled during the American financial crisis when the economy was reeling under recession. So probably the makers felt, that in an economy as weak as that, the marketability of a car relied more on the dynamics of purchase rather than the dynamics of the vehicle. Now, that was a mistake, even if the car was mentioned to be fuel efficient.
The exterior design of the 2012 model came under extreme criticism. Therefore Honda makers made it very clear that they were going to negate that in the next 2013 model. They decided to take away the criticism and bring on a bold statement with the new version of the Civic. So the car sports a very muscular raised hood, and in contrast to the body colour, black honey-comb mesh grille. Lower down the bonnet with chrome trimmings and integrated fog lamps. The rear has been widened to give a sharper look with the tail lights mounted onto a taller trunk. The concept here is clearly masculine, probably to endear to that section of the population. Probably with a view to further conceptionalize the patriarchal protectiveness in this Civic.
There is a certain generous volume to the car, maybe to give what the struggling economy has taken away from the people. There is a volume of comfort for the owner, and the passengers who can easily slide in. But the interior could have been given more comforting colours, yet the material more than makes up for it, with its deep grained texture the comfort is restored. A little bit of Chrome had been added here and there for a bit of glitter, keeping the bolder rather than gloss concept more in proportion.
Premium treatment has been given to this bold car, with a back-up camera which will be a standard feature in all cars, with images displayed on the car’s i-MID screen at the top center stack. The EX-L with navigational upgrades to a three-view backup cameras. Bluetooth, Pandora, SMS text messaging are all available, including Forward Collision and Land Departure warnings.
A new extension of the bumper helps to absorb more energy in case of a crash, supported with an additional weight of 50 pounds, makes the car feel nice and strong. Both the front and rear anti-roll stabilizer bars are thicker keeping with the concept, new bushings to help the suspension on to a smooth ride. There is a stiffer wheels and additional sound-deadening materials in the door, floors, dashboard and thicker windshield.
The impressions are Honda has worked hard to address the problems of its Civic 2012 model and correct that for the 2013, variant. The jittery suspension, noisy cabin and lackluster style, has all been changed for this Sedan, entry level is LX. So the new Civic, comes lined up to appeal to the protective minded people. The masculinity and bold exterior inspires those who love driving a safe-feel car for themselves and their families. These are salient feature of this car.
