Audi India, the fully owned subsidiary of the German luxury car manufacturer in the country took part in the car rally of vintage cars that took place in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
This unique car rally was conducted by Rajasthan Tourism & Rajputana Automotive Sports Car Club, Jaipur along with Audi India and the event showcased the massive 100 vintage cars. Needless to say, that such a unique and exciting event really attracted a number of auto enthusiasts to flocked to the event venue to witness the greatness of these awesome cars from the past.
The vintage car rally also showcased Ravi Shastri’s 1985 Audi. The car enthusiasts were overwhelmed by the Jaipur Vintage Car Show that took place over the past weekend. 100 vintage cars were showcased in the event and the show itself was organized by the Rajputana Automotive Sports Club of Jaipur. The Rajputana Automotive Sports Club was started in the 1996 and started off with only 14 cars participating in this rally.
Audi India, on the other hand is on the rise in the market. This German automotive giant is expanding in the Indian terrain considerably and announced that in the month of February the company’s sales rose by 29 percent to 775 units as compared against the same time in 2012.
Audi also have the plans to sell 10,800 units in the present year as compared with 9,003 units in the previous year.
However, Michael Perschke, head of Audi India regretfully said that the recent announcements in budget may dampen the spirit of customers as the custom duty for imported cars and excise duty on SUVs have increased. The company has to evaluate the impact of this hike on the product prices. He added that the company has no choice but to pass on the increased amount to the customer.
