Honda has completely phased out production of its popular and premium hatch the Jazz and its sedan the Honda Civic from the Indian market. These cars were also taken down from the official website of the Japanese automotive giant. Phased out Jazz and Civic are now set to enter faced anew, and Honda has been vocal about its plans to bring these new generation cars in 2013. The Honda factory situated at Saitama Prefecture will be responsible for the Honda Jazz 2012 and production wheels will start rolling come July 2013. Honda has evidently speeded up the process, contemplating the other competition that will be around. If the Honda units are all production ready this will reflect in Honda’s sales for this fiscal year.
The new hatch may even be re-christened of may just stick with the Jazz, after due consideration is paid to the market and timing of the launch of course. The Jazz, or whatever be the name of this new version have its official unveiling at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show and the Indian markets could expect the Jazz by 2014. The new Jazz will come with an entirely new platform which is also to be carried through for the new Honda City, which will also brought out in India in 2014.
Honda has made it clear that it intends to bump up its sales and profits by making the Company’s presence felt strongly country to country. This could involve a multi-strategy process that will rest assured by an extensive Honda ploy, which is bound to succeed. One way of achieving this as we are already made aware of by Honda, is by designing the new Honda Jazz in accordance with country specifications and preferences. The Jazz will be sold with variations depending on what each market requires and is expected to be sold in a hundred countries. This is reflective of the Company’s growth and global presence. Since the country-based Jazz plans for production, are in place, there will not be any major loopholes to overcome when they actually roll out and there will not be paucity of units.
The new Jazz will come in diesel, petrol and hybrid variants. It will also come with electric guise, again all this depends on the markets. The 2014 Jazz will make its way to India in diesel and petrol. Honda plans to use its latest 1.5L EarthDreams i-DTEC turbo diesel engine which will first be seen, tested and fated in the soon to be Honda Amaze sedan. So, if Honda’s claims are true, the next generation Jazz will be give mileage of 25.8km/l and power output of 98.6bhp which is 100 of PS.
Apart from the above, we can rely on Honda to continue its basic and quality features in the next generation Jazz including safety and spacious interiors. The car will come with an automatic braking system called the City Brake Active which will cause the car to auto brake in case of a low speed crash.
