There has been an atmosphere of profit for Honda Cars India with the company’s first diesel car grabbing booking figures in thousands and the waiting period has increased to 4 to 5 months. The mileage and attractive pricing are the marketing strategies adopted by the company to release the Amaze. The Japanese parent firm aims to roll out 50,000 volumes of Amaze in 2013. The significant booking figures have created a higher demand with lesser resources for production.
With the success of Amaze, the company aims to expand its portfolio in smaller cities and rural areas. Honda is refurnishing its showrooms in smaller towns to lure buyers. The company has invested a massive amount of Rs 25,000 crore in its newly established Tapukara factory in Rajasthan. At present the Amaze is designed at the reputed factory in Greater Noida. This car will be released in small towns and tier II cities. Jnaneswar Sen, the Senior Vice President of Honda Cars India stated that the company will target 60% of total car sales in smaller towns.
Honda had planned to introduce five new models earlier along with three diesel power trains. The firm is looking for new and exciting revamped models in 2014 with the New City sedan, Multi Utility and Sports Utility Vehicles of Jazz, new Honda Jazz. There have been rumors that the company is likely to launch the trendy hatchback of Brio built with diesel engine. At present the company is working on the new Jazz which will soon be displayed at the Tokyo Auto Show in 2013. For Honda fans this would be an interesting event, and would be worth it to buy a ticket to Tokyo
Sen also stated that diesel variant of Amaze is to meet the needs of the growing shift to diesel cars. The Amaze is manufactured in petrol and diesel models. He added, this is our first diesel product in India, our aim to introduce diesel model is to cater to the growing preferences to diesel cars with the constant rise in petrol prices. The engine is developed with advanced internationally acclaimed technology.
The initiative of Honda India to cater to the rural and smaller town areas in India is a good move to boost its sales, especially during the current downslide in car economy. Other auto manufactures like Mahindra has expanded its usage of utility vehicle the Bolero to rural areas. The introduction of Honda cars in rural areas can benefit the people to transport luggage and farming equipments which are otherwise a burden on people. By 2014 Honda will have an interesting line of cars in showrooms, so if you are a Honda fan there are new surprise packages on its way. At present the Amaze is a worthy buy to save chunks of money on fuel, along with its powerful engine efficiency, safety and high-tech interior fitments, and comfy interiors with premium leather upholstery. Honda does have fruitful prospects in the future.
