Honda Cars India has announced on 29th of June that the company is planning to conduct a preventive part replacement of the Power Window Switch of 42,672 of the second generation Honda City cars. These units of the previous generation Honda City belongs to the batch that was manufactured between the years of 2007 and 2008.
Honda Cars India Limited will try to fix the issue as soon as possible and replace Power Window Switch, which according to the company may malfunction in case water or any other liquid manages to enter the driver’s side window.
Honda is making a recall of the 42,672 units of the previous generation City, as the company intends to replace the possible malfunctioning part after the company detected the problem. According to the company, this recall is due to a car part update as the company is taking a preventive measure though there are no such problems that have been reported from any part of the country. Honda Cars is going to take this preventive measure to ensure that no such problems actually affect any City owner and to ensure customer convenience as well as maintaining quality standards of the Honda cars.
Honda India is going to replace the supposed malfunctioning car part absolutely free of cost at the Honda dealerships across the country. The company dealers are going to contact the owners individually in a slot based process, until all the supposed affected units are updated with the properly functioning Power Window Switch.
Honda Cars India Limited also revealed that in spite of the absence of any such complaints from the customers’ side regarding the malfunctioning power window switch, the company is going to carry out the part replacement program in a very systematic manner in order to adhere to the company’s global exercise in order to make sure of the strict quality standards of its car models.
The Japanese car major also said that the latest car model or the third generation Honda City that is presently being sold in the Indian car market is not affected by this particular malfunctioning part and thus, does not need to be recalled for any part replacement or update. The company also stressed on the fact that its global recall does not include the Honda Jazz sold in the Indian market as it is totally unaffected by any issues.
Meanwhile, Honda Cars India is contemplating on a major expansion in India by launching at least 4 new cars in the market. The company is certainly overwhelmed by the success of its recently launched Honda Amaze compact sedan, which is also the company’s first diesel offering in India. Owing to its features and the greatest fuel (Diesel) economy rates, the Amaze has really won the hearts of the Indian car consumers. The Maruti Swift Dzire’s sales have been reportedly affected by the rising demand of the Amaze.
