Honda has stopped the production of the previous Jazz model in India, and is reported to be working on the new Jazz. The images of the car are splashed all over before its display at the prestigious Tokyo Motor Show for 2013. The images seem to appear from a brochure in Japan and were released on websites in India.
The spy 2014 Jazz portrays the car to possess superior aerodynamic properties, and is styled with inventive insertions. Based on reports, the car is equipped with a powerful 1.2 and 1.4 liter petrol mills, which is a reduction from the previous Jazz model which was fitted with 1.3 and 1.4 liter power trains. The company is expected to release a Hybrid Jazz version as well with a potent 1.6 liter diesel mill with turbo technology which was also observed in DTi-S hatch model of Honda Civic.
The interiors of Jazz sport a larger boot that extends beyond 400 liters, which is larger than its predecessor at 337 liter. A thrilling and unique feature of the car is the Magic seat system, which are foldable like bunker beds, to enable storage of many items required for long distance strenuous travel. The car is inserted with instrument cluster as well, but only in few versions.
Besides the refreshed Jazz, Honda is working on a mini Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) as well, which will be showcases at the prestigious Detroit motor show of 2014. This is the company’s first project in the SUV segment, and will be showcased in one of the auto shows. In Australia, the car is expected to release in mid 2014, but further details on the model have not yet been revealed.
The 2014 Jazz is expected to hit Japan this September; the car is built on a totally different platform which will be used to design the SUV and next-gen City. In India the car is expected to launch next year. Honda has a string of interesting launches such a refreshed utility car, multipurpose vehicle based on Brio and next-gen City. The reason for the production of the earlier Jazz to halt in India is because of the dismal sales generated by the car. The last pieces of the car were sold with attractive discounts, but the car however did not meet the company’s required net margin profits.
The earlier Jazz car was not offered with diesel power trains, the narrower choice options has hindered effective buying powers, the high pricing might also be the reason for poor sales. Honda to increase profit sale outputs is working extensively on localization which is on the move with Amaze and Brio hatch. Localization could cut import costs significantly.
The 2014 Jazz is expected to have a longer dimension compared to its predecessor at 60mm; the wheelbase is also extended to cater to quality and comfortable interior volume. The spy images reveal interesting features such as a thicker grille, lengthened head lamps, exclusively styled bumpers with wider dams. On the rear there are refreshed tail lights which are vertically stacked.
The 2014 Jazz appears to have some exhilarating features, which could probably turn the fortunes of the earlier Jazz car.
