Honda Cars India is bubbling at the moment following the super success of its newly launched Amaze compact sedan. The Amaze sedan is also the first diesel offering from the company in India. The Amaze really turned around the fortune of this Japanese luxury car maker in India amazingly, not only drawing awesome volumes but also dampening the demand for the top selling entry level sedan in India, the Maruti Swift Dzire. Honda Cars India is also enjoying great positive growth at the moment going against the market slowdown, and this is primarily because of the success of the Amaze.
Following the amazing recent success, Honda has already announced that it is going to bring forth 4 new models in India by the year 2015. The company has confirmed that some of the upcoming Honda cars for India will be unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo.
2014 Honda Jazz
The first among the upcoming Honda cars that will be arriving India in the year 2014 is the all new 2014 Honda Jazz. Honda has already announced the next generation Jazz’s launch in the Japanese car market in September, 2013. Thus it will hit the Indian market sometime in 2014.
The Jazz is not a very popular car in India, primarily because it lacks a diesel motor despite costly tag. However, Honda is now confident about the diesel market of India post Amaze’s launch and is going to introduce the all new Jazz with a diesel motor as well. The 2014 Jazz is also expected to be aggressively priced to fuel up the competition. The 2014 Jazz diesel is expected to feature the same 1.5 liter i-DTEC engine that runs the Amaze, while the petrol Jazz is expected to continue with the 1.2 liter motor.
The all new Honda Jazz will be bigger and longer, and will have an overall upgraded interior as well as exterior looks. The leaked images shows a far more aggressively designed and tougher looking 2014 Honda Jazz as compared to the preceding model. The new car is also going to flaunt more premium features.
Honda Brio MPV
Following the launch of the new Jazz, the Honda Brio MPV is going to hit the Indian market, perhaps towards the end of the year 2014. The seven seater MPV is being developed on full swing in Indonesia at the moment.
The MPV is expected to premiere at the Indonesia International Motor Show in September, 2013. Post launch, the Brio based MPV will lock horns with the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. Honda is reportedly using the Brio’s components extensively on this MPV to price it aggressively.
The Brio MPV is expected to be powered by the petrol engine that powers the Brio as well as the Amaze. While, for its Indian diesel model, the MPV will be most probably run by the 1.5 liter i-DTEC motor that powers the Amaze.
Apart from these cars, Honda is expected to launch a Jazz based SUV and the next generation Honda City sedan by 2015.
