The 2014 Honda Accord Plug-in Hybrid is a great car to be driven, especially in its all-electric mode. This is because, its electric motor is perfectly silent even when you ignite it to life, and the only way to know that this car is ready to go is by looking at its lighted up dash lights after you press the start push-button. The Accord hybrid is a specimen of the great future of commutation that lies ahead, when the requirement of fossil fuels will be comparatively negligible. Honda offered its 2014 Accord Plug-in Hybrid in the beginning of this year. With a rating of 115 mpg on a combined driving, the 2014 Accord Plug-in Hybrid is one of the most fuel efficient cars of the present time. This advanced hybrid car is powered by a very potent 6.7 kWh battery, which Honda claims can offer up to 15 miles on all-electric mode when it is fully charged.

As the Accord Plug-in Hybrid is meant for the city roads, it makes most of its regenerative braking system drawing enough power to drive it more than ten miles on traffic stricken roads that can really take one places without using the 2 liter 4 cylinder engine that churns out 137 horsepower.

If you wish to challenge the wind by driving at high speeds and also using the car’s climate control system, then expect to get much reduced all electric driving range. The Honda Accord Plug-in can drive on its all electric mode at up to 80 miles per hour, but more than slight acceleration will make the gasoline engine start.

When used on traffic stricken short city drives, the Accord plug-in is the most suitable car. This highly efficient vehicle also charges quickly in a matter of an hour when using a 240-volt outlet, which makes it even more convenient. While charging it with a 120-volt outlet will take three hours time.

The Honda Accord Plug-in also exhausts its battery charge fully before kicking start its gasoline engine. However, the car also offers the choice of saving up the battery charge to be used later, which is really great feature.

The only downside of this really great futuristic car is the fact that it provides a really tight boot space. Owing to its big battery pack, there is barely any space to pack in more than two medium sized bags. Thus don’t think of travelling with any suitcases in the car as you’ll be left with no choice but travel very light.

The 2014 Honda Accord Plug-in is good for what it claims, that is fuel economy which is really great. It offers awesome mileage and offers great driving experience both on city roads as well as highways, while its short battery life is made up with rapid charge time. It provides buttery smooth drives and has all the contemporary features such as blind-spot camera.

The Honda Accord Plug-in has a starting range of $40,000 and is currently available in only two states of America, namely California and New York.
