The first name that comes to the mind the very moment one think about F1 sport is that of the great legend, also known as “God of Formula 1 racing” – Ayrton Senna. This F1 sporting legend cum god of this sport is cherished by millions across the globe. Recalling the fete created by Aryton Senna, Honda paid a befitting tribute to the legendary F1 racer through its latest commercial at its 65th anniversary.
Aryton Senna is the man who brought new dynamics and dimension to the very popular and famed racing sport. Such was his name and fame that he remained the F1 sports unconquered king till the likes of Michael Schumacher appeared. He was born on 21 March 1960 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He debuted in the F1 arena with the 1984 Brazilian Grand Prix. His supremacy and love for the sport was such that he won many accolades in it, like being fastest racer on earth setting and breaking his own records, getting 161 starts out of total 162 races etc.
Anyone can easily lose the count of the records created by him. Senna also topped the list for holding most of successful podium positions ever by any F1 racer apart from creating fastest lap time/record. Another feather in his cap is to pair up with a number of teams like Toleman, Lotus, McLaren and Williams. He was undoubtedly a reigned speed man, the godly man of F1 sport and is even remembered for his heroics on and off road the F1 track field.
Unfortunately, he’s the only racer who got killed in one of the worst ever accidents on the F1 track field till date in the 1994 San Marino Grand prix. Ayrton Senna remains immortalised amongst the F1 sport fans as well as amongst the racers themselves as he the most cherished racers this sport has ever produced.
There couldn’t have been a better way to pay tribute to this legendary F1 racer than the way the auto giant Honda set out to do. Honda has released a press statement stating that Honda is celebrating its 65 years of innovation viz “Powering dreams” of million car owners right from the very birth of this great automobile company on September 24, 1948. On this occasion, it has released a video “Sound of Honda – Ayrton Senna 1989″. The video is made by binding the telemetry data and audio samples from 1989 race track and putting a lot of speakers and artificial lights to create Ayrton Senna’s “ghost” on the Suzuka racetrack in Japan.
Apart from this visual treat, Honda is also busy with a mega project slated to be released in 2015 when a supercar will be unveiled with Acura badge. It will feature a mid-mounted V6 engine linked to a Sport Hybrid Super Handling All Wheel Drive system. The car will be powered with the third generation safety features, inbuilt deluxe chassis and stabilized aerodynamically fitted dual-clutch gearbox to give extra robust grip on the track.
