The Insurance institute for highway and safety rated the cars on performance, the test was referred to as small overlap crash test conducted on the front portion. The front portion according to experts is the most critical safety aspect. The safety exams conducted by IIHS is known to be more competitive than those conducted by the Government of US’s crash test with the entire segment of the car. Officials from the institute have said that the front portion of the car is designed with shock absorbers, and crashed with the front region have led to life threatening and fatal accidents.
Two variants of Honda Civic together with Elantra, Focus and Dart have been branded the top safety picks by IIHS, and are appreciated for their spectacular performances in a range of tests which included minor crashes. Around twenty five models have earned this position, and interestingly emerge from a range of design segments.
