There seems a lot of buzz going round and round about Honda’s announcement of launching a brand new vehicle entrant of the much famed Civic and its upgrade to a powerful segment targeting 300 BHP. Honda’s UK Managing Director Dave Hodgetts earlier stated that the much awaited “Civic-R would be available in the usual segment of 265 BHP (198 kW)”. However, the speculations from this statement has been phased out as Honda plan to bring a powerhouse marvel upped the ante with never before heard or imagined features with its announcement of 300 BHP (224 KW) model.
Already popular, funky, stylish, fashionable, high on performance and laddered with safety features, “Honda Civic” has been voted the best performance car for a long time. So, a buzz round the corner with what’s new with this high power packed and elegant styled vehicle is obvious. Especially, made for the UK market, speculations are being laid down that “A prototype of power packed, yet sporty and elegant styled 300 BHP Civic-R is already undergoing.
Also that before its pre-launch in the market, there would be a stringent quality test conducted at Nurburgring. Nurburgring is a Motorsports complex around the village of Nurburg in Germany, where in Renault Megane RS Trophy set up a record two years ago as a front-wheel drive car with a time of 8 minutes and 7.97 seconds. The record still stands, making it the best, sturdiest as well as powerful and one of its kind vehicle in this segment. Honda would definitely eye to beat this record set up by Renault.
This power packed vehicle will have all the aerodynamic styling to give it an extra edge. It is expected to be the best sport and power packed performance based vehicle. The heart of the vehicle will carry the most advanced 1st generation hybrid 1.6 liters I-DTEC diesel engine from the Earth Dreams Technology series or even a much powerful 2.0 liters turbocharged engine for more performance.
It will be backed with highly studded ABA-FD2 chassis which is the upgraded version and will be the first of its kind to be launched by any automobile-maker till date. The significant and trail line of this multidimensional vehicle is its sleekness, rigid and sturdy features along with an aerodynamically structured look wherein a thin figured line is placed on the exterior from the front A-pillar to the D-pillar creating the everlasting impression of an aqua kind roof line.
Honda is no longer just a normal automobile manufacturer as it want to enter such vehicles which can even be used as a high end racing cars. So with this prototype Civic-R, it aims to test it in the FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC)-A great Motorsport loved and watched by crazy Motorsport fans.
If F1 is touted to be the costliest sport, car-racing is also touting the adventurous cum costliest sport. So Honda’s not turning any ball unturned to get all specification right and carry its numerouno tag.
