Honda delivers 30000 units of the Amaze in India

One of the world’s leading Japanese car makers Honda has for the first time launched its diesel make in India this year in April and has been a grand success here. The car has been welcomed with great royalty by the Indians for its exclusive features and amazing cost. Honda Amaze has indeed helped the company to attain the number four position at the Indian automobile market, and to hike the price of its vehicle by Rs 8,000.

Sales structure of Honda Amaze in India:

It is worth admitting that Honda has attained its new milestone in the sales of its cars and has delivered more than 30,000 units of the vehicle in India since its launch in April 2013. It is worth noting here that the company has created the record of being the first company in India to attain the total sales of 30,000 for any new model of vehicle. Though it has been the first diesel counter part of the Japanese automobile giant in the Indian Market, it was able to attain more than half of its sales in the previous financial year in just one month after the launch of Amaze. It’s tough competitor the Ford Eco Sport though has caught the eyes of Indian automobile buyers, was able to make just 5,000 units on road, two months after its launch in India.

The diesel counterpart of Honda was launched in the year 2013 April at the starting price of Rs 4.99 lakhs and has attained an total 65% growth in sales in the financial months April-June, 2013. The Automobile giant from Japan is also planning to gear up its production units at Greater Noida to improve the number of units of the vehicle to meet its demand on the Indian roads and to decrease the waiting time post launch.

When the Vice President for Marketing and sales, HCIL Mr. Jnaneswar Sen spoke on this trend, he said, “The vehicle has helped HCIL to reach out to many new customers and gain their loyalty. The vehicle has been successful to attract majority of the Indian population into the Honda fold, among which 80% are first time buyers from Honda”.

Honda Amaze has been regarded as a compact family car which has been manufactured after reading the Indian minds through extensive surveys on user requirements, expectations and comfort levels. The design, fuel efficiency and cabin comfort of the vehicle has been designed based on user preferences and that’s the reason why it has become a huge hit in India. It is available in two variants, 1.2 liter petrol engine and 1.5 liter diesel engines with 5 speed manual gear box transmission with both the engines.

Yet another important reason behind the localization of the car is its competitive pricing and ability to reach people on time through strong distribution networks. Honda has more than 154 facilities in 98 cities in India which has helped to funnel its sales network even at remote cities.
