Honda Motor feels responsible towards road safety and increased driving responsibility in order to reduce road accident that lead to the death of several car passengers as well as pedestrians. Thus, the Japanese luxury car major is said to be busy working on an impressive technology that will link the Honda cars with the other cars on the road as well as the pedestrians who are about to approach crosswalks, thus helping effectively to avoid road accidents.
According to the reports, this innovative Honda technology will be embedded in the computer chips in automobiles, motorcycles and the pedestrians’ mobile phones. This technology will allow the vehicles and the pedestrians to signal their location and also sending alerts when they reach within close proximity with each other. Moreover, even after the danger alerts, in case the driver fails to slow down, then the car will stop itself with the help of the computerized safety system.
The chief safety engineer for Honda’s R&D facility in the US, Chuck Thomas told a reputed journal that this new and innovative road safety technology is one of the several projects which in the initial stage at the Honda R&D centre. Honda Motor is also carrying out several tests on the system in Ann Arbor, Michigan in collaboration with the American National Highway Traffic Safety Administration as well as the U.S. Department of Transportation.
The vice president of product planning at Honda America, Art St. Cyr reported to the media personals that the company’s goal is not just reducing the frequency and the severity of road accidents, but to avoid accidents completely.
Honda Motor is currently busy churning out a lot of new and refreshed cars for the world’s auto market. For the time being the all new Honda Jazz is about to hit the market in this month. The next generation car is going to be bigger and much better in terms of design, efficiency and features.
The all new 2014 Jazz is set to be launched in the Japanese car market in the current month of September, followed by its US launch. The new car will make its appearance in the other car markets of the world, including India in the next year keeping in line with its model year.
On the other hand, Honda is also working on full swing on the latest most talked about green technology, Fuel Cell. Honda is working on this completely green technology in a joint venture and is expected to come up with its first mass produced Fuel Cell vehicle by 2015-16. The Fuel Cell powered cars are also expected to be ruling the market in the future, once the infrastructure of the hydrogen refueling is in a better shape. Meanwhile, Honda along with the other global car majors such as Toyota, Hyundai, Nissan, General Motors etc. are working towards the better adoption of the vehicle in the general market by reducing its price.
