The Japanese automobile manufacturer Honda is targeting the Indian automobile market in different segments and is now coming up with diesel variants of their successful models to capture the market. The models like Honda Mobilio, Honda Jazz and Honda City are the Honda upcoming diesel cars in the Indian automobile market.
Owing to the higher petrol prices in the Indian automobile markets compared to diesel, Honda has taken a wise decision of bringing all its new releases in both, the diesel as well as the petrol variants. All the three cars from Honda will be sporting the 1.5L diesel engine i-DTEC which can produce a power of 98bhp. Currently the same engine is being used in the Honda’s compact sedan, Amaze. The engine is the best-in-class and has been known for its reliable and stunning performance on the Indian roads.
Honda Brio- based MPV / Honda Mobilio Diesel
The Mobilio is one of the most anticipated budget MPVs expected in India. The car has been recently unveiled at the Indonesia International Motor show and is expected hit the Indian roads in the middle of the next year. The car is based on the Brio platform and looks very much like the Honda Amaze. The Mobilio diesel is going to be priced competitively with its high-end variant at 9 lakhs INR approximately.
Honda City Diesel
Seeing the increased popularity of the Honda Amaze in the diesel version the company has now decided to launch its Honda City sedan with the diesel engine. The price of this diesel car model can be expected to be in the bracket of Rs 8.5 lakhs to Rs 11 lakhs offering full value for the money spent.
Honda City diesel shall also be designed on the existing petrol model and so one can expect the same luxurious interiors and attractive exterior features that have made City stand apart from the rest of the brands in this midsized sedan segment. The electronic sunroof, chrome front grille, alloy wheels, sporty bumpers, ORVM with turn indicators all add elegance to the look of Honda City. The interiors are also worth a mention with advanced features like audio visual navigation, Bluetooth, touch screen audio, spacious cabins, comfortable seating and so on. The vehicle is expected to be launched in the month of June 2014.
Honda Jazz Diesel
The upcoming Honda Jazz has got a complete makeover and is now coming up with a much stronger engineering and looks. This one will be longer than its earlier version and will sport updated features like an extended wheelbase, improved steering and an all-new grille design. It is also possible that the company detunes its 1.5L i-DTEC engine for the Jazz to reach the mark of 90PS to improve the efficiency of the car.
The car will be giving a stiff competition to others like the Hyundai i20 etc. Honda Jazz Diesel is expected to be launched along with the petrol variant in the Indian auto market immediately after the auto expo and to be priced at Rs 6.5 lakhs.
