Honda Cars India has been raveling in its new found fortune in the Indian car market after the launch of its Amaze compact sedan. Now, the Japanese luxury car major is all braced up to fire up the Indian market further with a slew of new Honda cars. Honda is currently experiencing an outstanding sales growth and encouraged by the present scenario, the Japanese car giant is aiming to usurp the majority of the market shares of the Indian car market with the help of new models.
Honda had earlier announced that the company is going to launch a number of new models by 2015, and now the company has confirmed the launch of the next generation City sedan as one of the new cars for India in 2014.
As for the next year, 2014, Honda Cars India is expected to launch at least three new cars in the market. The launch of the all new 2014 City sedan has been already confirmed and apart from that the discontinued Jazz is also going to reappear in India in its all new 2014 avatar. The third car from Honda to be launched in the year 2014 is the Brio based MPV called Mobilio.
The next generation City sedan launch in India will be a very important one as the City is one of the bread and butter cars from the house of Honda and is almost synonymous with the Honda Brand. The all new Honda City will have a better chance to beat the segment leader Hyundai Verna and boost sales considerably. Moreover, the 2014 City is also going to come along with its diesel variant to further push the sales.
The other important launch will be that of the 2014 Jazz hatchback. Owing to its high price tag, the capable Honda Jazz could not sustain in India. Thus, this time the all new bigger and better Jazz is all set to reinvent its own space in the Indian market. Launched in the car market of Japan in September this year, the 2014 Jazz is already a massive hit. Thus, if the car is priced right for India, the 2014 Jazz has tremendous possibilities. Moreover, the Jazz is also expected to come with its diesel variant most probably powered by the Amaze’s diesel mill, and this one is expected to sweep the Indian consumers off their feet.
The third 2014 launch will come in the form of the Mobilio MPV that is based on the Brio hatchback’s platform. Honda has already launched the Mobilio MPV in the car market of Indonesia and it is expected to arrive soon in the Indian car market. However, while the Mobilio has been launched in only petrol variant in Indonesia, as it is a petrol centric market, in India the new MPV is expected to come in both the petrol and diesel engine options. The Mobilio, post its launch in India will lock its horns with the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga MPV.
Apart from these cars Honda is also contemplating to launch a compact hatchback in India by 2017.
