Honda has been constantly posting high sales growth numbers in the last 6 months despite the looming market slowdown. This massive success in terms of boosted sales is primarily accredited to the launch of the Amaze, which is the first diesel car offering from Honda to the Indian car market. Riding on the Amaze compact sedan’s success in the domestic car market, Honda has become one of the fastest selling car companies of India in the current time. When most of the other car makers are struggling to handle the slumped market conditions, Honda is witnessing great sales volume growth.
The Indian car market has been under the effect of a long dark period of market slowdown, which is lengthening because of the countries general instable economic conditions, high inflation and the massive drop in the valuation of rupee. Nevertheless, the car makers of India are trying their best to handle the market slowdown till demand picks up again. The auto manufacturing companies operating in India are leaving no stones unturned to attract customers, and are offering everything alluring form new models to huge discounts and offers. However, the plummeting rupee and the rising input costs have forced most of the car makers to increase the prices of their cars even when its hard to find ample amount of buyers.
In such a time, the only hope to the car makers is the festive season of India, when the Indian consumers usually splurge in new investments and expensive possessions. During the auspicious period between Dussehra and Diwali, Indians prefer to buy new belongings to usher in prosperity and happiness. This is why the car makers in India flood the market with special offerings and offers to boost sales. Apart from the new Amaze, Honda introduced a special edition model to the Brio hatchback just before the festive season.
While speaking on the company’s sales performance, the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Honda India, Jnaneswar Sen said that on the auspicious occasion of Diwali, Honda would like to thank its valued customers for making the Amaze the bestselling car of the company. The Amaze has registered its peak monthly sale of 9,564 vehicles in the month of October, 2013. To add to the festive excitement and to offer better convenience to the customers, Honda India is commencing its 3rd shift in the Noida factory this month in order to boost the production and to reduce the waiting period for the Amaze.
