The Honda Brio MPV is a new version of the older Brio; MPV is a seven seater car named as Mobilio which can take over Maruti Ertiga and Chevrolet Enjoy. These are the two biggest competitors of the Brio MPV. When you look at Mobilio for the first time, you will find it the same as Brio as there are loads of factors that are similar in both which includes headlights, bumper and bonnet. The front grille provided in the Mobilio is larger and prominent chrome finish. On the bumper, an artificial air dam is provided and there is no change in the fog lamps, they are same as that in Brio.
Looking at the side profile, the Brio MPV has got an aggressive design while some of them reminds of original Brio. The wheel arches also add up the aggression to the look of an MPV. The wheelbase of the car is stretched so that the cabin space offered is sufficient and offers convenience to the passengers as well as drivers. The tail lights of the vehicle are integrated into the body and complements to the design.
Inside the car, the dashboard is same as that of the older Brio. The interior has got the dual colour which supports an airy ambience to the cabin. The quality of material used inside is soft plastic made and second and third row seats are foldable and slide easily to offer maneuverability. The height of Brio MPV is not much and so it’s easy to get in and out of the car.
The dimensions of the Brio MPV are 4.4 meters in length and when it will reach India the length will be cut down to 4 meters. The Mobilio is powered with the engine of 1.5L i-VTEC petrol guise in India. The diesel model will definitely raise the sales and will be powered with 1.5L i-DTEC engine having the capacity of burning 100PS of power and a maximum of 200Nm of torque.
In foreign countries, Brio MPV will be available in several variants such as S, E and E. The variant E is on the top as it comes fully loaded with interesting features such as stereo system with USB and connectivity for iPod, power socket, engine immobilizer, keyless entry, dual airbags for safety and ABS system.
The touch screen multi-media system works very well. When you’ll see the pictures of the car from inside, the boot space offered is as good as offered in Xylo by Mahindra. But Maruti Suzuki Ertiga seems to be the arch rival of Mobilio.
The Mobilio should be made available in India after immediate introduction in Indonesia in Jan or Feb. If you are looking for a compact and versatile car then Mobilio is worth the wait. The price of the car is expected to be 30, 000 more than that of Ertiga and might reach up to somewhere between 6-9 Lakhs. With the introduction of Mobilio in Indian market, Honda will again build a niche in the auto market. For its official launch you need to stay in touch with news for the updates.
