Honda is a pioneer in the luxury car segment; its Accord is a phenomenal luxury brand and is among the most appreciated cars in India. The company has taken a bold step to discontinue the car, and the biggest spoiler of this is the harsh impact of recession caused by steep depreciation of Indian rupee against the dollar. There are not many takers for Honda Accord.
Honda Accord fans should not be too disappointed, Honda has stalled the production of Accord at the moment, but the car might re-surface till the new car is transported to India from international shores. During the current fiscal Honda Cars India was able to roll out only 272 pieces of Accord.
The Vice President of Honda Cars India, Jnaneshwar Sen said ‘’the manufacture of current gen Accord, the eighth model has come to a halt. The company is now chalking out build and engineering dynamics for its next Accord project. The complete details are not yet revealed. Honda has enjoyed high praise with Accord around the globe, and the car has elevated the company’s supreme engineering power status. In spite of a blockbuster performance in the beginning, the sale output of Accord at present is not in accordance with the expected net sales. Since inception in the year 2008, Honda managed to sell around 11,492 pieces.’’
Accord is a professionally designed lavish piece, but unfortunately the takes for the car is way below average. Honda plans to focus on its best sellers which have generated heaps of fortunes like Amaze and Brio. The sale impact and customer turn out for the two models has been enormous. Amaze is Honda’s first diesel project, since launch in 2013 April, the car has flown like the waves of the ocean. The Amaze has been a magical spell, despite the harsh macro-economic scenario, Honda’s has noted delightful fortunes. The strong attention grabbing attribute of Amaze is the mileage generated by the diesel car, known to be the best-in-its class at 25.8kmpl. The mileage factor of the Amaze diesel was talked about months before its launch.
The Brio is also in the top selling sale list, the Amaze is a sedan version of Brio, and Honda has used the Brio platform in its upcoming Mobilio MPV model. The company has a range of new interesting packages for 2014 like fourth-gen Honda City diesel, Mobilio MPV and Vezel SUV. Car enthusiasts and Honda fans can witness enchanting moments in 2014 with the new amazing packages.
The forth-gen City diesel was unveiled in November 2013, and the most interesting aspect about the launch is the Exciting H Design theme. Also watch out for Honda’s new design inspiration called ‘Man Maximum and Machine Minimum’ philosophy. Mobilio MPV has already hit Indonesian markets, the car sports a grand MPV image filled with vastly abundant interiors and the interiors taken on a royally plush beige material.
Honda has discontinued the production process of its Accord model, those who are disappointed by this decision; the company might import an Accord vehicle to India. There are however new launches to look forward to, and Honda will focus on continuing its grand profit scenario with Amaze and Brio.
