Acura might build a crossover compact inspired by Honda Vezel

Acura is an established posh car division of Honda Motors the esteemed auto firm headquartered in Japan. According to the buzz Acura is keen to manufacture a crossover compact inspired by Honda Vezel. The design is derived from one of Honda’s premium creations Fit. Honda has a range of interesting launches for 2014; one new launch to watch out for is Vezel which was displayed at the prestigious Tokyo Motor show 2013.

Honda Vezel is among the most awaited new launches, the car has already been launched in Japan in December, and as expected the customer response levels have been marvelous. Acura might launch a Vezel inspired model, and fit the car in the top end posh car list. Vezel is an exceptionally stylish piece and is filled with segments of Honda Fit DNA, and Acura will use the same formula to construct its new Vezel inspired model.

Acura will build its new Vezel inspired model with features from Vezel’s engine and the base will be derived from Honda Fit. The new Vezel inspired piece will fall into the crossover compact segment and its position will be slightly lower than CR-V. The Vezel was test driven by a project engineer responsible for the development of the car, and the person announced that Honda’s division Acura is keen to construct a Vezel inspired model. The engineer also stated that the new car will be built to offer stiff competition with SUV X Acura; the same model was showcased at the highly acclaimed Shanghai auto event. Honda has used an interesting phrase line for SUV-X calling it a ‘global concept’. The company is keen to target the vehicle to Chinese markets. Acura is geared to launch the SUV-X in the year 2016.

There has been news of Honda’s ambition to create a luxury crossover compact, and this information was provided by a top engineer who worked on Honda Vezel project. He also went on to say that the company is keen to push the car for Chinese markets and other attractive auto segments around the globe. Audi and BMW have pierced their way to elevate their posh brand status with the launch of Q3 and X1 models. If Acura is firm on its aim to launch a crossover compact, then the design process will happen in Japan and the main market will be China.

Vezel since its first launch in Japan has gathered massive crowd into showrooms, it’s been barely a month since the launch of Vezel and Honda has already sold 24,900 pieces of the car in only twenty four days. The car is on sale in Japanese markets and will soon be transported to Europe and US.

Honda will launch Vezel in India and the car will be displayed at the prestigious 2014 Auto expo scheduled for February. Its fierce competitors will be Ford EcoSport and Renault Duster. Honda Vezel is a classic SUV piece and now the company’s division Acura is keen to manufacture a crossover compact car derived from Vezel. The main sale market is China and the company is keen to release the car in other established markets as well. Let’s hope the car launches in India.
