Honda Cars India has encountered amazing profits in 2013 post the launch of Amaze sedan. The company since then had to expand its production outlet to cater to the roaring demand for the car. Honda is all set to officially release its new City model on the 7th of January 2014. The company will now build a 2nd showroom in the city of Coimbatore in Chennai. Honda will complete the dealership set up process by Feb.
The fourth-gen City is among the most awaited new launches in 2014, the most interesting aspect about the launch of the car is the new design themes called Exciting H Design and Sleek Cross Motion. Honda is known to inject its cars with glossy shine that emits sparkling radiance. Car enthusiasts will certainly look forward to take home the fourth-gen City, another attention grabbing attribute to note here is the mileage rendered by the diesel car which is 26kpl. This fuel economy rates here is higher than that of Amaze diesel which is 25.8kpl, Honda’s bestselling car till date.
The demand for Honda Amaze has been sky rocketing since launch; Honda had to build its third production unit in Noida to cater to the overflowing demand of Amaze. Honda Cars India is probably preparing itself for similar fortunes and demand levels with fourth gen City and hence is geared to build a second dealership unit in the city of Coimbatore. The person in charge of the new Honda showroom in the city is confident about the catering to the demands of the public. The company enjoys 50% ‘market share’ in the city. The CEO of Ramani Automobiles Private Limited, Sasikumar K S said that Coimbatore is a robust car dealership venue; about 2,300 products are rolled out on a monthly basis.
Coimbatore showrooms are filled with all the possible exotic Honda brands that exist in India. Honda has witnessed drastic influx of profits post the launch of Amaze diesel. The launch of the car has triggered double profit scenario in the city of Coimbatore, the car movement figure has increased by two fold. Honda will open its new showroom on ‘Avinashi lane in the city.
Sasikumar KS said the year 2013 has been steady for car segment in the city of Coimbatore. The growth curve did not show severe growths or major falls, the sale increased has been steady. Sasikumar KS was confident that the market share will increase to 3 to 5%, since there are a series of new products on the launch row by many firms. Post the completion of second dealership Sasikumar is positive about selling 180 to 200 models on a monthly basis in city of Coimbatore which would result in 50% increase in market share.
There are many new models in the waiting list scheduled to be released into showrooms. Sasikumar provided a breakup of investments chalked out by Ramani Group to balance the launch gush and showroom capacity. The Group has showrooms for Nissan and Volkswagen under its belt and now another dealership on ‘Avinashi’ lane. The new showroom is situated near ESI hospital and the estimated infrastructure cost is Rs 5 to 6 crore. The showroom will roll out 60 to 70 models on a daily basis.
