Japanese auto giant Honda announced its plans for the much-anticipated Auto Expo 2014 which is scheduled to be held in New Delhi in February 2014. The Japanese automaker, which is preparing to unveil an extensive array of cars at the auto show, will also be officially showcasing its new crossover named Honda Vision XS-1. The Vision XS-1 will be designed as per the packaging technology engineered by Honda.
The Japanese carmaker added that Vision XS-1 would be a study version for a new crossover model that would feature amazing utility space and sporty styling and would be based on the distinctive packaging technologies invented by Honda. The auto giant will also be showcasing its MPV Mobilio. Sure, the MPV segment in India is heating up with several carmakers launching MPVs at a rapid rate. The Honda Mobilio will be competing against the likes of Mahindra Xylo, Chevrolet Enjoy and the Maruti Ertiga. It is expected to be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine while the diesel version will be powered by a 1.5-litre diesel mill under the hood. It would expectedly feature a price tag between Rs. 5-6 lakhs
Additionally, one can expect the latest Honda City, Honda Accord Hybrid and the 3rd generation Honda Jazz make an appearance at the upcoming Auto Expo. In India, the new Jazz will be promoted with a 1.2-litre petrol oil burner as well as a newly developed 1.5-litre Earth Dreams Diesel Powertrain. The two-wheeler arm of Honda, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Ltd will also be showcasing its upcoming offers at the automobile event.
The 2014 Auto Expo is scheduled to be held in Greater Noida from 6th February to 12th February and this auto extravaganza will witness the participation of different automakers from various countries. Automobile industry’s leading players like Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki India, Audi, Ford, Volkswagen, Nissan, Chevrolet, Jaguar Land Rover, Toyota, Honda, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo are queued in to showcase their new offerings at the auto show.
The Indian arm of Japanese carmaker Honda, Honda Cars India Ltd, will be showcasing several new exhibits, which include the Honda Mobilio and Accord Hybrid while the Vision XS-1 will be showcased as a study model. Honda will also be showcasing production models which include the 4th generation City as well as compact sedan Amaze that comes powered by cutting-edge i-DTEC Diesel Powertrain. Fourth generation hatch Jazz was unveiled recently and is being currently sold in Japan. This hatch, designed for the American markets is called as the Honda Fit. The American specification Jazz in the right-hand drive specs, will also make an appearance at the Auto Expo. The Jazz for Indian markets is likely to be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol Powertrain borrowed from Brio and, more significantly, will also get a 1.5 litre diesel mil from Amaze.
At the Auto Expo 2014, Honda will also be exhibiting path-breaking technologies as well as products like the Accord Hybrid and the NSX Concept.
