The Indian subsidiary of the Japanese headquartered firm Honda Cars India came to force in the year 1995. Since then Honda cars are have become symbols of optimum style and luxury. The company’s Civic, City, and Brio are common sights on Indian roads. The phrase Honda is in sync with lavishness.

The past year or two was unfavorable for reputed car industries all over India, but for Honda Cars India, what appeared to be a dim phase for many established auto biggies turned out to be a beacon blaze for Honda India. The company has adopted effective strategies to tide past the recession wave with the launch of Amaze compact sedan in 2013 April. The demand for the car since launch has been on the roof top, and Honda India has been on a profit high. The attention grabbing features here are the best-in-class mileages yielded by the diesel car which is 25.8kmpl, powerful iDTEC engine and luxurious interior room for a below four meter sedan.

Honda has incorporated similar characteristics into its latest 2014 City diesel project. The car runs on iDTEC engine and the fuel economy offered is 26kmpl, the new Honda City is the fourth-gen model, and it was in the most anticipated launch list. This is evident from the pre-launch booking figures which have touched amazing figures of over 9,000. The new City diesel is a special launch because unlike other newer versions of existing cars, the City is an evolutionary model and not a continuation of its predecessor. The new 2014 City appears highly urbane, and draped with refined material with abundant interior room to accommodate many passengers.

It is interesting to learn that the new Honda City is an evolutionary model of its predecessor. The evolution aspect arises from the new design theories like Exciting H design and Sleek Cross Motion. The new car looks more aggressive with sharper lines and creases. The variation is visible in the demeanor of the car, where the wheelbase measurement is greater than previous model.

The insides of new Honda City are filled with opulence, and garnished with a classic piano black theme, and the same effect is visible in infotainment compartment. There is a five inch touch screen, even the buttons look top notch, and the dash board design looks pretty up market.

It is a thrilling moment to buy the fourth gen City, and there are many variants to choose from like VX, V, SV, S and E for diesel and petrol cars fitted with manual transmissions. For CVT variants the car is sold in VX and SV trims, as royal as the City is the colors draped on the car. Customers can choose from six shades like white taffeta, black crystal, silver alabaster, titanium urban, carnelian red pearl and golden brown.

The car is equipped with powerful iDTEC 1.5 liter diesel engine that yields 200Nm and 100PS. The petrol car runs on a potent iVTEC mill that churns 119PS, the diesel car runs on 26kmpl mileage and petrol car offers 18kmpl. 2014 Honda City costs Rs 7.42 to 9.49 lakhs.
