When Honda revealed about its aim to launch the new Honda City, it was among the most spoken about new launches. The City is one of Honda’s splendid creations, and news about the launch of fourth-gen Honda City has sparked waves of excitement. The car made a grand entry on Indian soil on the first week of Jan, and the pre-booking figures had gone past the 9,000 mark.
The fourth-gen Honda City is not just a modification of the third gen City, but is an evolutionary model. In the past few months, companies seem to adopt a new evolution formula; the prime example is Hyundai i10 Grand, a bigger version of i10. The new City diesel is an exceptionally stylish piece and Honda has injected the car with immense creativity. The new Honda City has been launched in Thailand, and here the car will be sold with petrol power train only, different from Indian spec 2014 City released with petrol and diesel fuels. The price varies from Rs 5.5 lakhs Baht for base version, and the most loaded SV+ model costs Rs 7.49 Baht. An important point to note is for Thai markets the car is available with petrol engine only and the potent diesel iDTEC engine is absent.
The 2014 City is equipped with potent I VTEC 1.5 liter 4 cylinder engine that churns 146Nm and 117 bhp. The engine is mated to CVT 7 speed automatic or 5 speed manual gearbox. As grand as the exteriors is the interiors fitted with all the desirable features a modern car fanatic can ask for with touch screen climate control, premium leather upholstery, cruise control, audio fitted steering, back parking camera, touch screen infotainment devise, air con vents with start or push button etc.
The exteriors of Thai spec 2014 Honda City is similar to Indian based model, the only exception is there will be an extra color option which is blue sporty metallic. The car is fitted with world class safety features like Emergency Stop Signal, Hill start assist, VSA stability control and ABS brakes.
The 2014 Honda City is in huge demand all over the globe, and the most fascinating aspect is the new design theories injected into the car. The competition in sedan market has become red hot, and Honda has always been on top of the lavish sedan ladder with its City and Accord brands.
