Earlier sources stated that Honda will launch the Mobilio MPV in 2014 June, but now the President and CEO of the company, Hiromori Kanayama has stated that the launch will happen anytime in days that span from July to October. Honda Cars India has built the second unit in Tapukara Alwar Rajasthan very recently, and is positive that the cars will sell to customers on time, and will make sure that there is no waiting period.
The launch of Amaze has worked wonders for the company, the demand for the car for so enormous that Honda India had to construct many more units to cater to the huge demand. Just like Amaze, Mobilio MPV is a multipurpose version of Brio, and is built with the same iDTEC 1.5 liter diesel and iVTEC 1.5 liter petrol engine also used in Amaze, and the same mills are used in 2014 City as well. Mobilio is a grand MPV and its length dimension is more than 4.4 meters, and for some shocking information, longer than Ertiga. The interior room is luxuriously spacious greater than Ertiga. The ground clearance is 185mm, and this also a stand out feature compared to existing MPV’s and SUV’s in the country.
Mobilio MPV is a grand launch and from the front it looks impressively muscular, and looks sturdier than Amaze. The round fog lamps, chrome decorated thick horizontal slat grille, enhance the style quotient of the car. The fog lights are surrounded by neat matte black finish. Most of the exterior fitments are similar to the ones used in Amaze, a sub four meter compact sedan. The true identity of Mobilio MPV is visible on its side profile, where the second row seating compartment is positive a little lower, and merges with D pillar. The wheel dimension is 15 inches, and its wheelbase length is 2650mm, lengthier than Amaze by about 245mm. The neat free flowing aerodynamic lines flow towards the back and terminate beneath tail lights.
The back portion of the car has an identity of its own and different from Amaze, the new features to look out for are rear windscreen molded into a creative wraparound structure, and newly designed taillight clusters.
The insides are similar to Amaze, with dual tone inside finish, and the materials used are world class quality. The steering wheel is three spoke make, and there is a high tech music system, air conditioner and twin dials. The second row compartment is luxuriously spacious and 3 occupants can comfortably sit without any room for stuffiness. A unique feature to note here are huge windows, and the feel is homely. The second row seats have reclining properties, and the third row can accommodate two occupants. The boot volume is massive and can load huge baggage of suitcases and duffle bags.
Mobilio MPV is an exciting package, and those who are keen to buy the car will have to wait till July or even October. This is an ideal model to encounter happy family holiday moments, and great to explore long holidays with a group of friends. So let’s wait for the launch of the car and immerse in a world of comfort and abundance.
