There is nothing like owning a posh sedan, and the sedan market in India is so huge that there is a range of models to choose from. Amaze is Honda’s wonder sedan, ever since its launch in 2013 April, it has taken Honda on a profit roll. The company has managed to make impressive profits for months on end, despite the current recession pressure. It has given Honda an edge over other recognized firms.
Hyundai is geared to launch its Xcent this month, and let’s compare it with Amaze, and pick the better of the two pieces. The battle in sedan segment is at its peak, and Honda has recently introduced the S variant of Amaze. The car is built with potent diesel iDTEC 1.5 liter engine and petrol iVTEC 1.2 liter engine, and churns 98bhp, and the mileage offered is the best-in-its class at 25.8kmpl. There are now many more options to choose from, AT VX, and AT S for petrol model, and VX, SX, S, EX and E for diesel and petrol cars.
Amaze is packed with the advanced Earth Dream Technology engine, and is the secret behind the car’s supreme power output. The novelty of the engine lies with neat aluminum lining below the hood. Amaze S variant is packed with safety with front dual SRS airbags, EBD, ABS, high mount stop lamp, wave key, driver seat belt reminder, pre-tensioner with load limited, front seat belt and engine immobilizer.
Hyundai Xcent runs on powerful diesel U2 1.1 liter engine or petrol VTVT kappa dual 1.2 liter engine. The engine is attached to automatic gearbox besides the existent manual transmission apparatus. The car is filled with excitement and comfort with world class Bluetooth enabled entertainment system, touchscreen, LED lights, rear and front bumpers. The car was a stunner at 2014 Auto Expo draped in classic beige and black interior color theme, electro chromic mirror which functions as back display for rear camera, push start button.
Xcent is a reliable product on safety front with dual airbags, rear defogger, anti lock brake system central locking with rear parking assist and central locking. The due launch date is sometime in March, details on price structure is yet to be disclosed.
Customers will certainly look forward to Hyundai Xcent, since it is a new sedan piece and the thrill factor is on the roof top. Hyundai cars are known to be super lavish and comfy; keeping this in mind, there will be a massive crowd in showroom post the launch of the car. Amaze S overpowers Xcent in engine power department built with two novel 1.5 and 1.2 liter iDTEC and iVTEC engines.
Amaze has been the stand out model since its launch, and is a hard piece to beat; it will be interesting to observe the booking figures for Xcent post launch. It is difficult to pick the better of the two. A hot topic of discussion here would be if Xcent will overshadow the dominant profit status of Amaze. We will have to wait and watch, the competition in sedan market is more cut-throat than before.
