Honda has unveiled the all new 2014 Honda City Mugen version in Philippines. Mugen is Honda’s high-end presentation range, which transforms the original cars with bold cosmetic updates or superb performance upgrades or sometimes all together. The 2014 Honda City Mugen that was displayed at Manila is actually a prototype which offers a look at how the production model of the all new City Mugen will look like that is scheduled for a launch at a later point fully loaded along with upgraded performance tweaks from the company apart from its racy customized looks. Thus this prototype City Mugen was showcased with only its cosmetic makeover in place.
The all new 2014 Honda City Modern version dazzled the floor with its new sporty looks backed by a whole host of new features. The dashing Mugen version surely looks very different from that of the standard City sedan, though it is already a very stylish and elegant car.
The Mugen version of the new City sedan gets, side skirting, new spoilers, newly styled front grille, Carbon fiber model inserts on exterior rear view mirrors, tail spoiler, and sporty Mugen body graphics on the car’s side profile, Mugen imprinted stripes on the C pillar and new 17 inch alloy wheels.
As the Mugen version of the new Honda City sedan has still not got its performance upgrades, the sedan is powered by the same 1.5 liter petrol motor delivers the max power of 119 Nm and a peak torque of 145 Nm. Unlike the Indian market, 2014 City is sold in its petrol version only in Philippines.
As the new City has been a super success, Honda really does not have to bother about the launch of the Mugen version at least for a year. The sedan has huge demands and there is no need to offer any upgrades right away. If Honda offers the Mugen version of the 2014 City in India, then expect it in the next two years, which should be offered as a special edition kit. Thus, the excited fancy car lovers who would like to get hold of the Mugen version of the 2014 Honda City in India may get the entire cosmetic kit imported. The kit can then be installed as aftermarket features for an entirely different sporty look that can make it stand apart from the crowd.
Honda Cars India had also offers the Mugen performance solutions in the domestic car market in the past, but in a very limited way. Honda India had offered the Mugen alterations for the now discontinued Civic through few select dealers who provided the cosmetic upgrades as aftermarket solutions. However, the Mugen versions were never a success in India.
Honda offers various Mugen versions of several cars such as the CRV, Civic and the Accord in the international markets. The Mugen performance package of the 2014 City will include bigger and improved brakes among other things, while the interior will also get much plusher upholstery.
