This compact sports utility vehicle from Honda had been announced a compact crossover on the lines of Fit/Jazz but and will now launch production design of this vehicle at New York Auto Show soon to be held in April 2014. The car is based below its current CR-V car in terms of size and cost but its interiors will be spacious and comfortable. Honda’s latest compact SUV is presently only meant for markets in Europe and America to meet demands of compact and versatile all terrain vehicle and it will compete against Nissan Juke and Chevrolet’s Trax. According to Honda’s press statement about launch of this car, showrooms will receive delivery of the HR-V based on Honda’s Urban SUV concept by winter of 2014.
The Honda HR-V will have trademark Magic Seat for driver with ability of multiple seating configuration and like all existing range of SUV’s its rear seat can be folded halfway to increase cargo area if required. Honda also sells this vehicle in global markets as Honda Vezel with muscular body curves and groves on sides and large tubeless tyres. The door handles of rear doors are hidden into its “C pillars” while body colored ORVM’s offer a sleek appearance to sides. Dark underbody cladding has been provided on all sides and around curvaceous wheel arches. The lines and curves of Honda HR-V blend into each other on sides, rear and front fascia with radiator grille fitted neatly into curved angle built into bumper.
To increase its appeal the car is available in attractive colors of silver, metallic titanium, red, white and metallic brown and also has hi-fi music system with rear speakers, which has Bluetooth and USB compatibility. The Honda HR-V compact SUV is powered by 1.5 liter petrol engine with direct injection four cylinder mechanism which is further connected to CVT. Being an all terrain car it needs to be properly balanced therefore Honda has provided it with combination of McPherson suspension struts, double wishbone and torsion anti-roll bar with coil spring. The car designed for European and American markets therefore has safety paraphernalia comprising six airbags, stability control, collapsible steering and disc brakes along with safety precautions against damage on collision like side and front impact beams.
Honda HR-V is likely to be offered with both 2WD and 4 WD to increase its versatility while wheels have attractive steel covers. The car’s rear and front bumpers are body colored with angular slogs for LED fog lamps below sharp headlamps with indicators and projector lights. Honda promises its customers that interiors will be comfortable with leather seats and small luxury touches like cup holder next to front seats and cigarette holder. The car has wipers on both front and rear windshields along with washer and defogger for the rear so driver can have better visibility even in bad weather. Its powerful antenna designed like a shark’s fine gives its rear spoiler and edgy look while rear stop lights cluster combining wide red lamp with triangular daytime running light below it compliment the effect.
